Meet Lindsay Adams: Our Newest Team Member

We’re thrilled to introduce Lindsay, who joined Shelden Architecture this week! Lindsay recently graduated with a master’s in architecture and is bringing her fresh perspective and enthusiasm to our team. We caught up with Lindsay to hear what she’s excited about as she starts this new chapter in her career and outside of it:

“As I design, I strive to create specific atmospheres to evoke meaningful reactions and emotions through the users of the design. Evoking these emotions is a direct reason to why we design: for people and their experience. I also have a strong interest in the research field of design and how the world of design is ever evolving.”

“In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking with my fiancé, and playing with all the family dogs. I also enjoy hiking and traveling, and the outdoors is where I feel most myself. While traveling, the different landscapes, architecture, and cultures interest me and inspire me to design with a similar sense of awe and wonder.”

The stunning St. John's Clonmel completed with Dondlinger Construction! SA's Randy Crook was the project manager for this church and his skill in design speaks for itself!

Pam juggles the demands of managing our business while nurturing and prioritizing relationships, making her an invaluable asset that is hard to find in a person. Her outstanding service is a testament to her drive and loyalty to Shelden Architecture.

Spanning 13,000 square feet, the Redbud Pediatrics clinic has 32 colorful exam rooms providing a fun and welcoming environment for their young patients. Throughout the building you can find beautiful custom graphics that engage not only the children but even their parents. The large “hopping” circles create a sense of direction and wayfinding for all visitors. The breakroom/kitchen and spacious open office space were designed to create a comfortable atmosphere for the staff to unwind while not with patients.

We were so excited to work with Dr. Reddy and the Redbud team again after working on their East Wichita clinic in 2019. Their standard for excellent design reflects the care they always take with their patients.

It's summer camp season! Carlos Coello was happy to participate by introducing Architecture and Design to the kids at the KAM (Kansas Aviation Museum) STEM classes.
"It’s very gratifying to see the little ones get so excited about Architecture and engineering. We need to inspire the younger generations, and this is a great way to do it”.

If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Martina Trifonova, you are missing out! Originally from Bulgaria, Martina and her husband moved to Wichita after interviewing with us via Skype in 2015. Over the past nine years, Martina has been an invaluable member of our team, bringing exceptional design and positive energy to every project she undertakes.

But Martina is more than just a skilled designer—she's a huge advocate and instigator for our fun company culture. Her passion for hospitality and celebrating special occasions, holidays, and milestones knows no bounds. From creative party planning to making elaborate desserts, Martina's attention to detail and thoughtfulness could make a Monday feel special! Plus, her dog Max adds extra joy to the office!

We are so thankful to be on the same team with you, Martina!

Park City's long-awaited $500M mixed-use development to break ground this week - Wichita Business Journal The plans include a 78,000 square-foot aquarium, baseball and softball fields, and an indoor mixed-martial arts stadium, those involved with the project say.

Meet our Summer Intern, Mattie Lane! ☀️

We are excited she has joined us and hope to fill her summer with learning, creativity, and inspiration for her future. We love her eagerness to dive into new challenges, ability to communicate and natural team player attitude!

Mattie is currently enrolled at Kansas State University and plans to graduate in May 2025 with a master’s in Interior Architecture, accompanied by a minor in Leadership.

It's almost ready! SA performed the final punch list for the new Redbud Pediatrics West Wichita location. Simpson Construction is putting the final touches to this 32-exam room facility. The building will also include features such as a reverse osmosis water filtering system and a kitchen where parents can learn healthier recipes for their children. Redbud will open its doors soon!

It is always exciting to work alongside clients like Schellenberg Development Company because of their vision for our city's growth and development. Be sure to watch for progress as plans progress!

Wichita developers acquire 3 prominent downtown buildings with ideas for new uses - Wichita Business Journal The Petroleum Building is one downtown property that has not been much to look at for years. New owners of that building — and two others in the city's core — are poised to change that.

SA participated in the Kansas State University Design Expo 2024. It was a great display of talent from the students who are full of energy and enthusiasm for architecture and design. Daniel and Carlos greatly enjoyed getting to meet the students and seeing their portfolio work. Many of them participated in our sketch competition where they had a chance to freely express their creativity and talent, with a few provided “constraints”, just to keep it interesting. Here are a few of them.

Meet Elizabeth Stevenson. Biker extraordinaire and one of our Project Managers at SA. You can find her in our Old Town office 6 months of the year. The other 6 she is up in her native Canada working remotely seamlessly thanks to our integrated virtual communication programs and systems. You will see her flashing by on her bike as she heads to site visits or client meetings. Her eccentric and energetic personality brings positive vibes to the studio. She and her husband Patrick, a well-known artist, reside at the Fisch Haus, an artist-run gallery and multi-disciplinary art facility.

A great hangout spot is coming to Delano this summer 2024! Shelden Architecture has designed the remodel of the 901 W Douglas building. Our client, Hayes Property Management, is adding another improvement to the very walkable and charming district. This fantastic new venue will serve food, drinks and host live music. The design incorporates a roof top terrace for patrons to enjoy a craft beverage. More details coming soon. Cheers!
