What a fantastic crew at this past Saturday’s work day! The focus was on trees and yard clean up….they got so much done! 💚

The LWMS-Mid-America Circuit Fall Rally is happening on September 23 at Mount Olive Overland Park!

Victory is a new church coming to the East side of Wichita! We selected the name "Victory" because it is our goal to proclaim a win for a world so desperate for one.

We want nothing more than to be an inviting place for everyone to learn more about God's eternal plan for them.

A MOTHER’S DAY PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of mothers. May these bearers of life also share your Word. May they teach and train up their children in the way they should go, so when they are old they will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). Help them to encourage this training from infancy, and even when their children are grown, help mothers to continue to encourage their children to continue to grow in their faith and bear the Fruit of the Spirit. Just as a mother’s work is never done, and her prayers for her children will never end. A piece of her heart is always with them.

Lord, we know this is not an easy job and there are no clear answers on how to be the best mother. Sometimes it seems overwhelming with the amount of tasks in the day and the strong emotions that come and go. We pray that the Holy Spirit guides these women to your word and that they seek you for wisdom. We pray that their children honor them and that you place a support system around them whether it be family, church family, or friends. Encourage them to seek you first and that will allow them to be filled with joy that comes only from the love of their Savior.

Lord, we also ask that you be with those who are grieving the loss of their mother today. Give them reassurance in your promise of heaven. Remind them of the joyous times and to look forward to when they will reunite again in heaven. We ask that you be with the women who are grieving the loss of a child today. Give them comfort in your promises of your word and love you have for your children even in the face of trials and tragedy. Remind them you hold them in your loving arms. Be with the women who are waiting for their chance to be mothers. We pray you give them strength in the period of waiting and help them to see the blessings before them. Help them to know that you see them and you know the desires of their heart and you have a plan. Lastly, we thank you for all the women that impact children. We know that children learn and grow and are loved by a wide variety of people including grandmothers, aunts, godmothers, friends, teachers, and so many more. We thank you for all of these women today and everyday!
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Merry Christmas! What a wonderful day it is to enjoy family and friends. We give and receive gifts. There is so much excitement, especially with little children. We can have that same excitement as we recall the reason we celebrate Christmas, Christ. The Son of God came down to earth to give us the greatest gift, his life. He lived, died, and rose for us. As we look towards the manger, may we rejoice for our Savior!

Prayers of Christmas

The Christ Child
I was born in a stable,
In a simple abode,
Without a gold crown

I am the true Savior.

As we get closer to Christmas, it is always interesting to think of all those who witnessed that first Christmas night. We hope you can utilize these prayers of Christmas as you ponder the birth of Christ.

EPIC Youth Group had a great time enjoying our Christmas party with a pasta bar, cookie decorating, gift exchange, and of course a game. What a blessing it is for young Christians to get together and enjoy time together!

What a fun day at Christmas for Kids! Thank you to everyone who came and everyone who helped. What a great reminder for us this season to prepare our hearts for Christmas and to remember the greatest gift we ever received was our Savior Jesus and the forgiveness he gives us! Have a blessed Advent and Christmas!

Happy Reformation Day!!

Today we remember when Martin Luther nailed the 95 Thesis to the Castle Church Door in Wittenberg which started the Reformation. We are thankful for his influence to point Christians in his day and moving forward to look to Scriptures as the highest authority and truth in their lives. His translations helped laity to understand and study God’s Word for themselves.

Just a reminder that we're having more of a "casual" Sunday for anyone who can stick around after the 2nd service to help us clear the church out. We have pews and some other items to be moved, and we'll need a crew to help set up the gym for worship on October 23.

It will look quite bare already when you come on Sunday, but we'll still need many hands to help with the move, so if you have a couple hours to spare, what a great way to help and to serve your Savior!

Congratulations to Pastor Jonathan Rockhoff and Mrs. Deb Rockhoff for their 35 Years of Ministry here at Messiah! We enjoyed a celebration for these two amazing people and what a wonderful night it was! So many have been impacted, encouraged, and inspired by them. We thank God for their service to our Church and we ask God to continue to bless them and their family.
