The Village Perinatal Support Network
Contact information, map and directions, contact form, opening hours, services, ratings, photos, videos and announcements from The Village Perinatal Support Network, Mental Health Service, 315 N Hillside, Suite E, Wichita, KS.
The Village Perinatal Support Network provides individual and group support services to mothers suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety, or other mental health complications related to infertility, pregnancy loss, and/or infant loss.
We’ve likely all said AT least one, if not more of these things. The more we know, the more helpful and supportive we can be. If we aim to be a support person that a parent can confide in and share joys with, it’s super important to acknowledge areas that we might need to grow in!
If you have said something like what’s above, take this as a gentle opportunity to learn. There’s no shame in changing or omitting comments after we’ve learned that they could do more harm than good. We’re all doing our best, let’s keep that up!
As summer months go on, sometimes we get burnt out on the activities we have been doing. To shake it up and spark a few ideas, we made a short but sweet list for you. We hope you enjoy the next couple months of summer!
The Village is sponsoring a walk with our community friends at The Mom Walk Collective. The walk is on July 10th at 9am located at 6501 Horseshoe Ln. It is free and we do ask to register so we know how many snacks/drinks to provide. We are excited to see you and connect!
July is Bereaved Parent’s Month where we have the opportunity to increase the awareness, impact, and support for those who have experienced loss.
We hope that through this, we help people feel less alone, more educated, and intentional moving forward.
Holding space for both, recognizing what else could be true, can be REALLY uncomfortable. We challenge you to give it a whirl. It’s helpful in validating, decision making, and moving forward with confidence.
🤎
Didn’t June start yesterday? No? Oh, well happy (almost) July! Here are a couple of notes for the new month ahead.
Our dad’s group is now being held at . The first half is peer support, the second half is DND (and no, we don’t mean do not disturb, we mean dungeons and dragons, duh… cough cough, me).
We have the pleasure of sponsoring a .wichita walk on July 10th. We hope to see some familiar and fresh faces! Give them a follow for more upcoming walks!
Many of the events are not affiliated with the village but if you have any questions, let us know and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Have a happy July, we hope to be a part of it!
The gift of reframing. Our thoughts don’t always come out of thin air. Sometimes, it’s based on a belief of what is/is not acceptable. Sometimes, it’s based on something we were taught. Regardless of where thoughts come from, there is a LOT of power in reframing.
This lets us acknowledge the thought and adjust our perspective to something less harsh or judgmental.
Reframing can take some time to get in the rhythm of doing, so here are some helpful ones to start with.
Happy Father’s Day from The Village!
We hope you feel seen and celebrated. Being a dad comes with unique layers, challenges, and joys. We are thankful for the dads in our lives who continue to care, grow, and make us laugh one of their infamous dad joke.
As an organization, we are working to keep father connected and supported. Give us a shout for more information on how you or someone you love can get involved.
Hats off to GREAT dads!
CALLING ALL DADS!
As we near Father's Day, we would love to hear the words of wisdom from the dads in our community. Men's support and mental health is not discussed nearly enough and we'd like to hear from YOU about that. It could be some tips for caring for yourself, helpful words of encouragement, or something more lighthearted. If you would like to participate, send us a message of what you'd like to say or email Taylor at [email protected]
Either pair it with a photo or not, either way, we're happy to share! Our theme is "hats off to great dads" so extra points if you're wearing a hat in the photo!
When it comes to receiving care, any barrier can feel like a HUGE barrier. Even asking a question can feel incredibly daunting and interfere with seeking support.
To make it easier, we answered some of our most common questions. The more we lower barriers, the more we can help.
