The old First Street water tank is coming down! The 3.8 million-gallon tank, which was built in 1939, was severely deteriorated and had to be replaced. A new 1.9 million-gallon tank was constructed just south along the creek and brought into service earlier this year. Once the old tank is gone, work will begin to construct a second new 1.9 million-gallon tank on the site.

Farm Bureau is joining us on Monday and Tuesday for SEAK-- we are never sure what shenanigans they are getting into, but we hear it will involve chickens :)
SEAK is a summer lunch program, geared toward anyone ages 1-18, designed to build community connections, and put more meals into the hands of kids, no matter the demographic. We hope YOU can join this week! The more the merrier!
Those coming to shop at the Bakery tomorrow are going to get a nice surprise! Thanks Newton Murals and Arts Project for making our little city a more beautiful place!

Visited the town of Inman, Ks yesterday to see their new grain elevator mural project. Spectacular art work by Mindy Allen of Mindy’s Murals. We need to get her to come visit our new Library and see what she might envision for our elevator!! Bring another mural to Newton, Ks! It would be a huge project but we could make it happen!!
What an incredible accompilishment for the city of Inman. MIndy Allen is such an amazing artist and her duagher, Haley, has been assisting her with this huge project.
This was yesterday’s progress. I always get so excited to start a new piece of the mural and I was really looking forward to starting on the wheat! I can’t wait to get back to it!
