Hey everyone! I just uploaded a new video exploring the world of our nervous system and the Polyvagal Theory. ๐๐ง

๐ In this video, you'll learn:
๐น The basics of our nervous system

When we create a non-threatening environment that prioritizes open, empathetic, and compassionate communication, free from criticism or judgment, we nurture trust that builds safety. When we feel safe, we can grow and thrive.
Safety...is...everything.
When we feel safe with each other, we can do amazing things. Our tender little nervous systems are wired to be on the constant lookout for threat, and respond with protective defenses. But when we feel safe, we can thrive.
Safety allows us to be creative, curious, and form social bonds.
It's also the most important factor in the therapeutic relationship.
Safety is the intervention.

Today's lesson: Handling technical issues during consultation.
Charge your laptop, and have the appropriate cords available when you need to recharge your laptop battery
I had a good laugh at myself as halfway through a 2-hour group consultation that I was hosting, my laptop .... just.... shut .... down. Now, I had cords plugged into my laptop and "thought" my laptop was charging, but Mac loves their own cords. Behind the scenes, I was scrambling to find the appropriate cords to charge my laptop and thought "I need IT here to fix this" and then I realized, "Uh oh, I AM the IT".
The group was wonderful and carried on until I was able to log back on. I had a good laugh later. But.... if anyone saw me scrambling at Best Buy purchasing Apple charging cords, now you know why.
Seriously- how cute is Cesar ?! Talk about a resource for calming- this little fella is great !
