We are proud to highlight the incredible work of our Hispanic and Latinx volunteers, supporters, and homeowners who help us create a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Together, we are breaking down barriers and ensuring that all families have access to safe, affordable housing. π
Letβs continue to uplift and support one another as we build homes and hope, celebrating diversity in every nail hammered and wall raised. π‘β€οΈ
The state of Vermont recently released the 2025-2029 Housing Needs Assessment. π
This document is useful in our work to help us understand the conditions of our housing market. We can use the data in this document to help us determine which communities are in most need of affordable housing and what we can do to help serve the most Vermonters. π
Affordability of homes continues to be a big issue for our state. Additionally, the supply of homes cannot keep up with demand. We need to build more homes to help workers, low income Vermonters, and new residents be able to come to and stay in this great little state. π

Today we remember the lives of the individuals who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks 23 years ago π
We honor the heroes who rushed into danger, the first responders who selflessly put their lives on the line, and the ordinary people who became extraordinary in their final moments. We remember the nearly 3,000 souls, each with their own story, dreams, and loved ones left behind.
Together, we can ensure that their memory lives on, inspiring future generations to stand against hatred and division. Today, we wish the best for the families of those lost and that we can reflect on the resilience of the American people in times of distress. π€

All-women construction crew builds affordable homes An unlikely crew is spearheading the construction of affordable homes for Vermonters in need.
This year is our 40th anniversary! β¨
We've been building homes and hope in Northwest Vermont since 1984. In the beginning, our organization was made up of only volunteers, and now we have over 45 paid staff members and operate three ReStores. In the early days of Green Mountain Habitat, we only built a house every one or two years. Now, we build between 5 and 6 homes each year.
We are so excited to see what this year brings. Thank you so much for all your support! π

Building homes, community, and hope.
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent and affordable place to live, Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1984 and has continued to build homes, community and hope ever since.
Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity to build a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their homes alongside community volunteers, and pay an affordable mortgage.
Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
Through shelter, we empower.
