Today marks the 1st say of SUMMER, making it the perfect time to remind everyone to wear sun protection everyday!

Protecting your skin from the sun is the best way to reduce your risk of developing skin cancer. Applying sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher) daily is one of the BEST forms of sun protection and gives your skin the best chance to prevent premature skin aging and certain skin cancers.

On June 19th, we commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, the Union soldiers landed in Galveston, Texas with the news that the war had ended and that those enslaved, were now free. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer found in men (1st being skin cancer) and is typically found in men 65 and older. About 200,000 men is the U.S. are diagnosed with skin cancer every year. Early detection is KEY in getting the treatment you need!

Speak to your doctor if you are experiencing these common warning signs:
*Pain and/or "burning sensation" when urinating or ej*******ng
*Frequent urination, especially during nighttime
*Trouble starting and stopping urination once in progress
*Sudden erectile dysfunction
*Blood in urine or semen

A specific antigen (PSA) blood test is used to test the levels of PSA in the blood. These levels in the blood can be higher in men who have prostate cancer. If the PSA test shows abnormal results, an imaging test of the prostate gland, such as an MRI, may be recommended. If you or someone you know are experiencing any of the above symptoms, tell them to get checked!
