Friday is National Cuban Sandwich Day! We couldn’t pass up an opportunity to give a crack at one of our favorite versions from , we present to you this week’s special: ‘Sandy’s Cuban Mix’.

Mojo marinated pork loin, ham, salami, baby swiss, garlic mayo, mustard, garlic pickles, lettuce and tomato on pressed Cuban bread.

We’ve only been open for 13 days (we think…) and we’ve had some great feedback from friends, family, neighborhood folk, staff, etc. Going thru that info, we realized that the ‘Carl B.’ & the ‘Neon Smash’ were basically the same burger. Not cool… So, we went back to the drawing board and are happy to introduce our newest burger - ‘𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁.𝐀.𝐃.’ One patty, double provolone, LTO, garlic pickles and garlic mayo on a BIG MARTY. (The bacon is extra)

Oh and for those wondering…. Carl B. continues the top billing on the menu.

Cape Fear Foodie: Commodore Wilmington welcomes the new Commodore Public House and Kitchen in the Brooklyn Arts District.

On July 31st, 1970 the British Navy stopped providing sailors with their daily Rum ration (aka daily tot). Suspension of this long standing tradition would from then on become known as 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐓𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲.

Come raise a toast and enjoy your ‘daily tot’ with a nice pour of today!
