Never Forget! 🇺🇸

09/11/2024

On this date 23 years ago, 246 people went to sleep ahead of their morning flights. 2,309 people went to sleep in preparation for another routine day at the office. 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and 8 paramedics went to sleep not knowing what their next shift would bring. None of them saw past 10 am the next day. In one single moment, life may never be the same. Before you go to sleep tonight, take a moment and think about all you are thankful for in life that can sometimes be taken for granted. Hug and kiss the ones you love. And remember those 2,977 people whose lives were tragically cut short that following day.
Never forget. 9-11-01 🇺🇸

At approximately 0230 this morning, B shift received report of a fire alarm at an industrial facility. During response, dispatch advised of flames seen through the roof. Crews arrived to find no visible flames from the exterior. Command was established and crews made their way inside to find flames in the ceiling of the facility. Due to the material burning extra care had to be taken, and thanks to preplanning and training by the crews no water was used to extinguish the flames. The fire was put out and no flame extension into other areas of the roof or machinery or any other parts of the building. Special thank you to Clinton Warren Joint Fire District for their always fast response and great working relationship with WFD personnel and assistance on this particularly tricky fire.
