Did you know your baby’s mouth should be at a 140 degree angle when feeding? That’s a wide gape! A straight line is 180 degrees. It’s common for moms to think your baby only needs to latch around the ni**le but that is not that case and can be very painful and can cause long feeding sessions and even short sessions if your baby is getting worn out from working hard. If you are struggling with a proper latch, contact a lactation specialist.

It makes so sad when I hear of so many moms stories of how they stopped their breastfeeding journey early ultimately because of the lack of support and education. Every mother deserves proper support and education!

Low milk supply is a common worry in mommas! Especially new moms or moms who are breastfeeding for the first time. It’s really important to see a lactation specialist before assuming you have a low milk supply. Avoid the sports drinks, herbs and lactation sweets and treats that so many advertise to help milk supply and are loaded with junk. Most importantly, keep feeding baby breastmilk!!
You know your baby best! It’s important to talk to your baby’s caregiver about breastmilk, your baby’s feeding schedule and give proper instructions on handling, preparing and storing your breastmilk.

Tips for going back to work as a breastfeeding momma💼
Sick babies are the worst. They are miserable and parents are scared. When it comes to GI bugs, we worry about keeping them hydrated. Avoid hydration drinks, give them breastmilk. If they can’t keep it down, give them breastmilk with a syringe every few minutes. Breastmilk is not like cows milk, it won’t upset babies stomachs. It costs their belly’s and helps get them better.
Make sure they are having plenty of wet diapers! Check with their pediatrician to see how many wet diapers they should be having based on their age.
World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) recommend that children initiate breastfeeding within the first hour of birth and be exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months of life… yet only 24% of babies are exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life in the U.S. There are many factors at play.. but let’s break some down.
▪️Not enough or no breastfeeding resources and education at prenatal appointments.
▪️Huge lack of appropriate maternity leave and paternity leave.
▪️Advertised formulas and false information about formula nutrition.
Women and babies deserve better. America has failed mothers and babies and their breastfeeding journey for years. Thankfully there are many resources available and lactation experts are on the rise!
Oral ties are so commonly misdiagnosed but also commonly missed. I enjoy learning more about ties and the many ways they effect mother and baby. If your baby is experiencing these symptoms, speak to your lactation specialist and pediatrician to work together on a diagnosis and treatment. It’s important to spread awareness on ties and know symptoms to look out for.
✨Breastfeeding your baby at night is important! It’s natural for babies to wake up and want to feed at night. Breastfeeding at night establishes and maintains a good milk supply in those easy days and months. Studies and research shows that night waking is the biological norm for babies.prolactin levels are highest at night, which is the hormone designed to aid milk supply.
✨Ever think babies are are actually using pacifiers as ni**les?
✨ it’s important to eat but you don’t need all the sugary sweets and processed foods to keep up your supply. Stick to a well rounded diet full of nutrient dense foods.
✨ PLEASE work with a lactation specialist before you decide your baby isn’t getting enough.
Parent-led weaning is hard. Physically and emotionally! Following these tips will help the parent-led weaning process. Remember if baby is weaned before 12 months, they need a supplementation of either stored breastmilk, donated breast milk or formula. You’ve got this mommas ✨
Happy Halloween!👻

Do as I say…not as I do 🤪 the darn storage bags get me at least once a week. Anyone else forgot things while packing for yourself and everyone else for a busy day?! Ohhh.. and don’t forget your confidence! You’ve got this, momma!
It’s true! Breastfeeding does get easier over time. You’ve got this and you’re doing amazing work and it’s so worth your time and effort. 💗
I know the nights are hard and sleep is limited.. but momma, you can do this! This is a season and I want to be sure accurate information about breastfeeding through the night is shared!
Formula takes longer to digest than breastmilk. This could be a reason why breastfed babies wake up more often through the night. However, babies who have a proper latch can have a quick session and good milk transfer and babies fall asleep faster and easier than formula fed babies due to the content in the milk. So, soak those sweet nursing and cuddle sessions in, they won’t be here for long 💕
Society is quick to listen and believe anything.. yet research shows time and time again the countless benefits of breastfeeding. Our leading world health organizations recommend and encourage breastfeeding such as WHO, UNICEF, AAP, CDC and several other organizations. So.. why is this information not well known to all? Why is breastfeeding not being pushed as hard as other medical recommendations? Breastfeeding is hard work and though it’s natural, beautiful and the ideal option, breastfeeding doesn’t come easy to everyone. Everyone should have basic knowledge on breastfeeding and proper support and education for any momma who wants to breastfeed.
Producing more milk from one breast than the other is common. Don’t be alarmed! This usually means there is more milk producing tissue or the size or amount of milk ducts. There are less common reasons such as breast damage from a breast injury or surgery. Here are some ways to increase your supply ✨
Breastfeeding support is SO important! I just want to yell from the rooftops about the importance of educating mothers and families of breastfeeding AND the importance of support to mother and baby while breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is hard and beautiful work. It takes so much time, dedication and learning things about your body you’ve never known before. If you know a breastfeeding momma, support her! 💗
