Wreaths Across America was a great way to start of the holiday season. Windermere FFA members honored veterans by placing Christmas wreaths on their graves at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell today

We set out with the goal to fill one Toys for Tots box and ended up filling 5! Thanks to NHS and SGA who helped us exceed our goal and donate 345 toys to Toys for Tots today! FFA members then went to the Marines sorting center and helped sort toys for distribution!

Thank you everyone for donating to the Windermere FFA Toys for Tots Toy Drive tonight. Our toy drive will continue through Friday December 16! You can drop off new unwrapped toys at the Windermere HS Front Office or in the Ag Room 6-110. The toys will be delivered to the Toys for Tots sorting center Friday December 16

The will compete in February at the State Dairy Evaluation Competition!

What a great day at UF with Dr. Deb Barry and the UF Ambassadors. 3 students, Deanna Homer, Catherine Tang and Pollyanna Winter had the opportunity to learn about what it takes to become an Agriculture Educator, Tour the campus, learn about the admissions process and hear a great lecture from Dr. Osborn about Growth Mindset! 🐊💙💛 Just another example of how FFA provides amazing opportunities to students!

What a wonderful week Windermere FFA was able to have in Indianapolis! Our students Sevred on Courtesy corp working the national Prepared speech and the National Dairy contest. Went to a rodeo, a Dairy farm, watch a live birth of a cow that needed to be pulled by two vets, saw a wind farm our past president Hendrix Paterson earned his American Degree and best of all they bonded and made great friends!

Windermere FFA and Wekiva FFA had a great two days in Georgia. We visited the Sunbelt Ag Expo, did a college tour at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and went to the Georgia Museum of Agriculture! Student learned about Agriculture and met new friends!

Windermere FFA Students work hard! Today students showed up early to unload three pallets of soil and mulch in preparation for building and planting our pollinator garden. They then spent the day building prepping and planting and ended the evening attending the Bloom and Grow Society learning about pollinator power! We are so excited for this great partnership and are thankful to The Bloom and Grow Society for donating plants to create our garden!

This evening Windermere FFA students had the opportunity to advocate for agriculture and teach Panther Lake Elementary students about FFA! Thank you so much Panther Lake for having us come out.

Can you believe summer is over and school begins soon! Me neither!

I have never made an Amazon list asking for supplies but this year I have. All of the items on this list will help support the students of the Windemere Agriculture Program. It would be wonderful to start the school year off to a great start.

What an amazing week at the Florida FFA State Convention.

Highlights on stage for Windermere FFA

Congratulations to
State Champion Proficiency Winner Ashley Scire who won first place for her Service Learning Proficiency… She will be able to submit her application for the National Proficiency in October

Catherine Tang on earning 4th in the State for the Discussion Meet LDE.

By a delegate vote decision Ashley Scire is now the District VII Secretary and will serve both Orange and Osceola FFA programs

Deanna Homer, Catherine Tang and Ashley Scire all attended the UF Ag Ed Institute and signed their letter of Intent for University of Florida.

Hendrix Paterson Received his Anerican degree and was also recognized for earning Agriscience Fair National Champion.

A special Shout out to Assistant Principal Nancy Murchison who not only spent Wednesday with us attending the convention she also was a state agriscience fair judge and sat with Mrs. Paterson on the UF Principal Discussion Panel discussing the importance of Ag education in the state.

10 Students attended the conference along with 5000 of their closest FFA members, attending leadership workshops, watching final halls leadership development events and making friends!

Catherine Tang and Lucy Smoker competed in the Orange County Farm Bureau Speech Contest today. Congratulations Catherine Tang on winning fist place! She will move on to districts this summer!!

Congratulations American FFA Degree Candidate Hendrix Paterson

This is the highest degree an FFA member can have bestowed upon them.

He will receive his award at the National FFA Convention in October. We are proud of you!

Hendrix is currently attending Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College studying Ag Business.

CONGRATULATIONS ASHLEY SCIRE being named finalist in your Service learning proficiency! Can’t wait to honor you on stage at the FFA State Convention in June!

We ended the first week at Central Florida Fair. I just wanted to say how PROUD I am of these kids!! It’s not because of the awards (which they did pretty great at especially as first timers) but because these 6 kids worked so hard every day. They were there from 7:30am- 9:30pm (most nights 10). They never complained. Never fought. Followed all directions.

I had a great group of parents who stayed and helped just as long as the kids!!

Mrs Todd brought her class on a field trip to see and meet animals.

All in all it was an amazing (exhausting) experience that renewed my teaching spirit.

What a great day today representing Windemere FFA and Northwest Orange County Alumni in the Apopka Christmas Parade

We are ready to walk in the Apopka Christmas Parade this morning!! Parade starts at 10 🎄

Windemere FFA is on their way home!! We went to the most awesome dairy Traders Point Creamery. Met some beautiful Brown Swiss dairy cows. Ate a farm to table lunch. And we are flying home!

Day 3 wrap up

The Original plan was to do an outdoor tour of Conner Prairie Farm but with 90% chance of rain and 40 degree temperatures we decided to do indoor activities. Students spent the morning in the expo touring 20+ colleges, visiting booths and demonstrations by companies like John Deere,Case, Purina and the Army.

We had lunch then headed to the Cinchs Worlds Toughest Rodeo at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Next we went Ice skating and followed the long day up with Cosmic Bowling!!
