If you are moving to Winston-Salem or exploring different neighborhoods in the 336, you may want to consider some of the best dog friendly neighborhoods in our area!

🐶Ardmore: If you don’t have a dog in Ardmore, you are truly a unicorn. This is one of the most popular neighborhoods for dog lovers. Quick access to Miller Park, lots of sidewalks and shaded streets. You can often find a “dog hydration station” on some sidewalks for pets to enjoy!
🐾Washington Park: Stop and grab a cup of coffee at and enjoy the scenic streets of the historic district. This is also one of the only neighborhoods with a true dog park!
🦴Buena Vista: Tons of sidewalks and quiet streets with minimal traffic. You can hop into and grab a treat for your furry friend! 
🐕‍🦺Mount Tabor: quiet neighborhood with large streets and small parks
🐾Clemmons: A suburb of Winston-Salem and less than 20 minutes from downtown. Clemmons has the largest dog park in Winston-Salem at Tanglewood Park. You can run the trails or explore “Tanglewoof” park.

4. Piccione Vineyards (Rhonda, NC): Italian-owned & operated, live music every weekend, and beautiful views. // 40 minute drive

LOCAL BIZ SPOTLIGHT: 4th Street Filling Station is one of my favorite Winston-Salem lunch spots! It is located in the historic West End area of downtown WSNC and has great outdoor seating along with cozy indoor fireplace seating. The shrimp & grits is one of my favorite items on the menu!

If you are anything like me, most weekends are spent at the dog park. I have done my fair share of research on dog parks, especially now that we have two pups! 

Here are my favorites!

What is your favorite spot in town to take your pups?

I know it’s hard to envision that your home won’t look the same when someone else buys your home, but it is important to remember that it does boil down to a transaction. When you list your home, you open it up to the public and the public needs a blank canvas so they can imagine themselves living in their future home. 

This doesn’t require a lot of work. Go through each room of your house with a box. Collect picture frames, sentimental items, and items which reflect personal information. Store them in the box while potential buyers are walking through your home.

One of the most important pieces of buying a new home…. the home inspection! 

You made the offer, you set a closing date, and now you probably have your mind on picking out new furniture or your first DIY project in your new home, but the home inspection process is a MUST before finalizing the process of making the house your home.

What Every Home Buyer Should Know About the Home Inspection: 
🏡A home purchase is one of the biggest investments you will make in your lifetime. You want to accompany the inspector during the home inspection. General rule of thumb is that an inspection takes an hour per 1,000 sq feet to inspect.

🏡Your home inspector is trained to find issues with the home that will require further assessments by licensed, qualified contractors or specialists. (Electrician, Plumber, Structural Engineer, etc.)

🏡Listen to the inspector’s recommendations!! Especially if it is a big ticket item. Some of the items they recommend might be things to take care of after you move in but some items should be discussed with your realtor to negotiate with the sellers before you close.

🏡Read through the entire Home Inspection Report. Your real estate agent is the expert negotiator, and should be the one to help you work with the seller to find a happy medium for what will be fixed, what you get a credit for, and what will not be addressed.  

🏡New construction doesn’t mean a house won’t have issues. The inspection is just as important as a home in a historic district.

I love helping sellers stage their homes. One area that sellers typically forget are the areas of our homes that we tend to neglect: food pantries, linen closets, and the garage. 

When a potential buyer is walking through your home, they want to see multiple storage options/areas. You can make the smallest pantry look HUGE just by sprucing up how you have it organized.
