A work in progress

I can't say it turned out perfect. This was my attempt at a digital portrait of my mom. I always imagined that if the fates had been in her favor my mom could have been something quite extraordinary on the world stage. But she was born in a time and place with few opportunities or mentors. Women were expected to stay at home. The luxury of self exploration didn't enter her mind until well into her 40s and 50s.

She has been a great mom to five rotten children and I'm thankful to be one of them. This is my attempt to create the glamourous visage I know she has, but never realized. It is far from perfect. Her hair was never quite that red. But when I think of her, that is what I see. Her smile has never been that relaxed. But in her best dream, the future is a quiet calm place full of joy for her and everyone she loves.

This is my second attempt at a digital portrait. It was created from 6 different portraits taken of Mariah Webb. From there I digitally painted her likeness. (I'm still not happy with the eyes). As a background clothing template I used a pic of Beethoven. After that I color graded and adjusted to match. I hope you like it. I plan to explore this style more in the future.
