Exciting changes to the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department National Night Out (NNO). This year W.R.P.D has partnered with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Baseball Club Gamber-Johnson to host NNO at Witter Field on Tuesday Aug. 6th from 3:00 pm - 6:00pm. We thrilled to have representatives from many local law enforcement, fire, and emergency services to display equipment and answer any questions. We will also be joined by many great non-profit organizations, local businesses and community groups.
Thanks to a generous donation from Gamber Johnson anyone that attends NNO will received a free ticket to the Rafters Baseball game which starts at 6:35pm. This is also the Back the Blue themed game with special addition Police Officer Rosco Bobblehead.
We hope to see you on Aug 6th!
🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE: LOCK YOUR VEHICLES 🚨
Wisconsin Rapids community,
We want to remind everyone about the importance of locking your vehicles to prevent thefts and break-ins. In recent days, there have been incidents of valuable items being stolen from inside vehicles, as well as a few cases of vehicles being stolen altogether.
To ensure the safety of your belongings and the security of your vehicle, please remember the following tips:
•Always lock your vehicle doors, even if you're just stepping away for a moment. Thieves can strike in seconds.
•Avoid leaving valuable items in plain sight. If you must store items in your vehicle, secure them in the trunk or cover them with a blanket to deter potential thieves.
• Park your vehicle in well-lit areas and, if possible, in a locked garage. This can significantly reduce the risk of theft.
•Consider installing home security cameras.
Remember, by taking these simple steps, you can greatly reduce the chances of becoming a victim of vehicle theft or break-ins.
Share this important message with your friends and family to spread awareness and help prevent future incidents.
Stay vigilant, stay safe!

With severe storms expected Tuesday, make sure you know the difference between a watch and a warning. The best way to explain the difference is to use the example of baking a cake:
A WATCH is when you have the ingredients to make a cake.
A WARNING is when the cake is ready to eat.
Take both watches and warnings seriously because when a watch is issued--the cake could already be in the oven, and as soon as the oven says ding, the cake is completed, and a warning is issued. Sometimes, there's no time for frosting.
You still have time to drop of a gift for the Toys for Tots Campaign at the Courthouse. Box is at our security station.
