Our shelters are great places to have a celebration! Graduation, wedding, reunion, birthday, celebration of life, or even a club event. We have both enclosed and open shelters to choose from with booking available up to a year in advance. Our most popular shelter at Nepco Lake Park is available year round along with the ATV Park shelter. All other Enclosed shelters are available on May 1st, while the Open shelters become available on May 15th. Parks and Forestry - Wood County Wisconsin Wood County offers visitors a variety of activities at any of our 7 recreational parks, 3 rivers, many lakes, 38,000 acres of county forest land, and 18,500 acres of Wood County State Wildlife Area.

All docks are now in at the Wood County boat landings. Don't forget to get your daily or yearly boat landing parking pass. These can be purchased on site, on line, or in office. Please visit https://parksreservations.woodcountywi.gov/parks/ to purchase your permit.

Powers Bluff tubing and skiing hills will be closed for the remainder of the season. We do not make our own snow so we have to rely on the weather. Unfortunately we were only able to open for one weekend this year :(
Be advised that Nepco County Park entrance road will be closed past the first trail head parking lot on Thursday and Friday for road repairs.

Due to the warmer weather conditions and lack of snow on the hill, Powers Bluff ski and tube hills will not be open this upcoming weekend, January 27-28.
Please use discretion when using the fat tire bike track at Powers Bluff. Stay off of the track to prevent rutting anytime the temperatures are over freezing.
Powers Bluff trails are groomed and tracks are set! Fat tire bikes, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing are all options here! Make plans to come enjoy the trails this weekend.
Powers Bluff tubing and skiing hills will be open this weekend! You can purchase passes ahead of time on line the Wednesday or Thursday before any open weekend at https://parksreservations.woodcountywi.gov/parks/permits/ . Passes can also be purchased on site. New for 2024: Punch Cards. $100 for 10 sessions, for a savings of $30! Cards can be purchased at the Parks and Forestry office or at Powers Bluff.
Nepco ski trail has been groomed, and tracks are set. They are in excellent condition! As a reminder, only skiing is allowed on groomed trails. All other users (hikers, dogs, bikes, snowshoers) may use the single track trails for free. Skiers must purchase a trail pass at trailhead, on our reservation system under "passes", or at our office M-F 8-4. These trails are groomed and maintained by volunteers from the River Cities Nordic Ski Club. Please respect their hard work and efforts by using the correct trails. Thank You!
Attention:
Kellner Knights Snowmobile Trails in Southeastern Wood County will be opening trails Sunday, Jan. 14, at 8 am. Lake Wazeecha will remained closed due to thin ice conditions. Must use Portage County Trail East of Kellner, get North of Wazeecha.
All other snowmobile trails remain closed in Wood County at this time. Stay tuned for more trail updates.

Unfortunately, we have not had enough snow yet for Powers Bluff to be open for this weekend. We are hoping with the possibility of more incoming snow and colder weather that we will be open the following weekend. Check our page or Wood County Parks & Forestry page for updated information.
Think Snow! Powers Bluff does not make snow, so we have to count on Mother Nature to help us out! The hill will open when there has been adequate snow fall. Information will be updated on Facebook and the Wood County Parks and Forestry website at woodcountywi.gov
