Come see select dance and piano students perform at the Occoquan Fall Festival Sunday September 29 from 1 to 1:30. They will perform on the Imagination Alley Stage. The festival is free to the public. More details: https://www.occoquanfestivals.com/fall.

Parent watch week begins Tuesday October 1 - Monday October 7. Parents may watch their students’ class this week. This is typically for the younger students (under 11), but all level parents are invited to watch the first class of the month through January.

Welcome to week 2 ! We are so excited to continue into our fall semester! REMINDER: NO STREET SHOES IN THE DANCE STUDIOS. Please have your dance shoes on and ready before class begins. If you are in Hip Hop please do not wear your street shoes into the studio and then into class, please have a different pair of shoes too keep our studio clean and safe.

We are so excited to be back!! We cannot wait to see you all for an amazing year !

Happy Labor Day ! Reminder we start our Fall Classes tomorrow September 3rd. We are so excited to see everyone and start a new year with our students. Observed the first Monday in September, Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. The holiday is rooted in the late nineteenth century, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being.

Please join us and welcoming our new teacher Miss Samia!
Miss Samia began her love for dance at the age of 3 at a local studio in Maryland performing in Dance competitions all over the DMV. At the age of 6, she moved to Northern Virginia and continued to dance at a local studio and completed in dance competitions. She then continued her dance training with Dance Etc. at the age of 9, training in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, and Contemporary. She got the opportunity to perform in the New Dominion Choraliers in Woodbridge, Virginia, Northern Virginia’s Arts Alive, and in the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C. Samia was also photographed on the cover of Shutter Up Magazine and a page in Dance Artistry Magazine.

Miss Samia then furthered her career in high school at Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School in the Center of the Fine Performing Arts Dance Program. During her time there she has danced with many artist such as Roger Jeffery, Victor Adebusola, Darrell Moultrie, Maya Fredorenko, Kate Skarpetowska, Eoghan Dillon, and Tiffany Carson.

Miss Samia is currently a student at George Mason University majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Dance. She hopes to use her dance knowledge to pursue a career in Physical Therapy, helping kids, athletes, and dancers.

Reminders dance classes resume next Tuesday 9/3, the day after Labor Day. Art classes Monday 5:30- 6:30pm (Teen) and 6:30-7:30pm (Youth). Musical Theater Thursdays 6pm-7pm.

Happy first day of school to our home county ! We wish all of our students the best of luck on your first day ! Feel free to tag us and we will add you to our story ! Reminder we do not start classes till September 2nd!

Join us for our ballet masterclass on August 11th 2-4 pm with Washington Ballet’s Cece Farha. Dance Etc. School of the Arts will be hosting an Intermediate level master class to include a full barre, adagio, center, and across the floor. Variations will be taught during the second hour of the 2 hour class. Pointe shoes are optional.

Ms. CeCe Farha has been teaching on the faculty of The Washington School of Ballet since 1999 and works within multiple levels of the school as well as the professional Company. She’s currently the Children’s Rehearsal Director for The Washington Ballet’s productions including Nutcracker. A founding company member of Ballet Oklahoma, Ms. Farha trained and was on full scholarship at the San Francisco School of Ballet, under the direction of Lew Christiansen. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma and has held teaching positions at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University, University of Central Oklahoma, Ballet Oklahoma, and George Mason University, and is founder and artistic director of Range of Motion Dance Studio
