I LOVE TEACHING WEDDING COUPLES! Congratulations to Jeeha and Chad…their biggest day is this Friday! I have a few tips for all Wedding Couples wanting their first dance to be special:
1. Don’t wait to the last minute!!! The sooner you start, the more options you have. It’s a better experience for both of you!
2. Plan on attending your classes 2-3 times a week. It’s important that your man or leader has muscle memory with the routine. On the day of your wedding, it will be crazy. You want to make sure he/she has your routine down.
3. I usually ask all brides for a photo of their wedding dress and floor plan as it plays a big part in what I teach.
4. Be patient with each other!!! It should be a fun experience.

The soon to be the new and improved Staff room. Have so much more detailing to go but on a roll…today was all about the log cabin. Landra LOVES painting. It is my happy place.
Due to MAJOR power outages in Woodbridge and the surrounding area, we not not be holding group classes tonight. Tuesday Group classes will resume September 7, 2021. Thank you all for your support and understanding.

Who are we?
At Modern Ballroom Dance Studio we teach a variety of social dances so that people can be ready for any situation that comes along: weddings, corporate events, special dates, and many more dancing opportunities. Our dance classes are specially taught so that everyone can get the most out of every lesson. We focus on creating a friendly, inviting atmosphere for our students and guests.
What is the role?
We are seeking a Male/Female Instructor(s) to join our team at our Woodbridge, VA location. Your team at Modern Ballroom will be unlike any other work team you’ve been a part of. We all care deeply about dance, about sharing our knowledge with the world, about supporting each other, and making the studio a success. A typical day consists of practicing with the other instructors, teaching private and group classes, and doing basic administrative work in support of your teaching. Additionally, Modern Ballroom is a thriving entrepreneurial environment, so if you have ideas or projects that would help the studio grow, we encourage sharing and will work hard to find time in the day to allow you to pursue those ideas. We want someone who will come in with a positive attitude, be ready to hone their own dance skills, and always be ready to do whatever they can to build our dance home.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
-Teach private lessons
-Teach group classes
-Train with the team
-Practice and learn on your own and with other instructors
-Attend all staff meetings
-Attend all Studio hosted events and parties
-Admin work and studio management (as needed)
-Perform with students and other instructors
Requirements
-1 year sales experience preferred
-Ballroom/Salsa/Bachata experience is preferred
-Desire to perform with professionals and students
-Willingness to learn new dances, technique, skills (REQUIRED!)
-Openness to business development training
-Outgoing personality with strong conversation and listening skills

Restrictions
-Must have reliable transportation to the studio’s Woodbridge, VA location
-Must be able to physically carry out the dance movements that will be taught
-You must be at least 18 years of age or older
-You must have the right to work in the United States
Compensation
Instructors are paid a 40% commission on every lesson taught. We will start with a three month trial period after which the instructor can be moved to a permanent position within the studio.

Today is the last day to buy your Wine and Date night tickets for tomorrow, June 4th.
The evening starts at 6:30pm with a white wine tasting, followed by a group class and we finish with a red wine tasting. Don’t have a partner to come with, no problem! Singles are welcome too (just purchase a single ticket). See you all there.

POSTPONED...our Brazilian Zouk Bootcamp. It will be rescheduled for August/September; date coming soon.
For those whom have bought a ticket already that do not request a refund and plan on attending this in the future will receive a gift at the event.
It’s a hard topic; being fully vaccinated versus not. The staff at Modern Ballroom are fully vaccinated and we still wear masks when we teach. It’s a hard topic to talk about and I know not everyone will agree but hopefully enough people understand. Nothing is 100% but because we are dancing close, lets do everything in our power to be safe.

WE ARE HIRING!! We are looking for male/female Salsa and Bachata Instructors. (Experience in more than one dance necessary) SPREAD THE WORD!
Business is booming and we are looking for experienced, out-going Instructors to teach private lessons and group classes. Must be available 2-4 days a week from 12pm-8pm.
Compensation: 40% of all lessons taught

Our studio is beautiful...love calling this place home away from home!
Five years ago it didn’t exhaust...it was just a dream. Now it has manifested into this classy place and has managed to survive through COVID!
Designer-
In the midst of a busy day, I had to stop an smile at the energy back in the studio! The buzz was so nice to feel.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR MORE INSTRUCTORS! If you watched the video, both Mimi and Chesco are fully booked.
We are looking for (male preferably but also open to female) instructors that teach Bachata AND Salsa.
We are ALSO looking for instructors that teach Wedding Couples, West Coast Swing, Hustle and/or Argentine Tango!
Rebuilding is so much fun!
Our Tuesday night group classes have been amazing, however...
WE NEED MORE LEADS!!!!! Last class we had 3 more follows than leads. We expect more follows next week. Anyone out there that wants to join, this is some material that has been covered in our Salsa class.
Bachata at 6:30pm and Salsa at 7:15pm
We encourage everyone wanting to attend (especially follows) to bring someone with you that you can partner with. Due to COVID, we don’t switch partners and so far it has been working well.
