DiMarco and Commissioner Joann Gattinelli attended the Public Policy Speaker Series hosted by the Southern New Jersey Development Council at Rohrer College of Business, Rowan University in Glassboro on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. The newly elected New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner, Francis O’Connor, was the guest speaker.

The Southern New Jersey Development Council’s Public Policy Speaker Series provides an opportunity to hear the views and plans from New Jersey leaders and key state policymakers several times a year, drawing 75-125 guests.

Youth On Course provides young golfers and their families the chance to play rounds of golf for just $5 at thousands of courses across the U.S., Canada, and Australia. A few years back, the County Commissioners were thrilled to partner with this program to ensure that the game of golf remains affordable and accessible to young players and their families. 🌍🏌️‍♀️

🎓✨ On June 12th, 2024, Gloucester County, in collaboration with Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, proudly hosted the Project SEARCH Class of 2024 Graduation! This event celebrated the achievements of seven remarkable interns who completed the Project SEARCH Program. The evening was filled with applause, pride, and heartfelt moments shared by the interns, their families, and the many partners who contributed to this success. Director Frank J. DiMarco and Commissioner Joann Gattinelli were honored to be in attendance to support the graduates!
Project SEARCH is a transformative program that provides young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a year of intensive career development, internship experience, and support. The program also embraces interns facing additional challenges, such as physical and mental health disabilities, poverty, and homelessness.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024! Your hard work and dedication are truly inspiring. 🌟

🚧 Public Works Update 🚧

Our Public Works team has been busy with several important projects to improve our community:

🔹 Kings Highway, East Greenwich: A significant washout was repaired with approximately 10 loads of fill dirt. The area was then covered with fabric to control future erosion and finished with 4 truckloads of riprap rock. This repair took place east of Wolfert Station Road.
🔹 Fire Academy: A new storm pipe was installed behind the new burn building to help manage water runoff during training sessions.
🔹 Buck Road, Elk Township: Boom mowing was conducted near the SR 55 overpass to maintain and improve roadside visibility and safety.

A big thank you to our dedicated Public Works team for their hard work in keeping our infrastructure safe and functional!

On June 29th, the Bar None Band rocked Woodbury High School as part of our Summer Concert Series! It was a night full of great music and community spirit.
