ATTENTION! TOY-TESTER POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED!
Recently adopted Dallas has officially accepted a lifetime position as TOY TESTER in his new forever home. He immediately understood the assignment, and has enthusiastically jumped right into his new role, exhibiting superior skills such as shaking, chewing, and spreading about ALL the toys. In addition, he has gone above and beyond and has quickly become the BEST BUD of his new doggy-daddy, Jerry, who reports he can't go anywhere without him and even sleeps in bed with him!! (Dallas reports this is NOT a hardship!) In addition to these tasks, Dallas has also had the opportunity to include Jerry's grandchildren in some activities, and has shown excellent project manager skills by setting the example of how to play with all his new toys and have fun. What a good dog!
Welcome to the team, Dallas - we are thrilled at your success! - MNBR
ADOPTION SUCCESS STORY AHEAD!!!
Gunner is celebrating his new forever family with Sheelan and Ashley in Rosemount, MN. His new dog-momma reports that he is a goofy pup who loves to carry around his blanket like a baby with a pacifier. He’s a big love, and never gets tired of being pet. His tongue sticks out constantly keeping us laughing! Thank you again for the opportunity to love him and give him a great home!
Thank you so much! We are so happy he's ours 💗!
Well, Ashley - THANK YOU so much for adopting sweet Gunner. He is a lucky boy to have such a wonderful home. - MNBR
🚨🏠 FOSTER NEEDED by Sunday (MUST BE MNBR FOSTER APPROVED)
Our newest recruits, Glenn and Gary, have secured transport from Ohio to Minnesota. They have not, however, secured a foster home yet. Eek! They arrive Sunday evening around 8pm. Who can help house these guys, even a temporary spot would be great to avoid boarding. No dog sprung from a shelter wants to go to boarding. Looks at these faces, how could anyone say no? 😉😍
**If we need to split them to get them into homes, we can. It's not ideal, but neither is boarding.
Dolly the Boxer!
Dolly is the perfect little buddy for people who love dogs and want that wiggle butt greeting you when you come home, but aren’t down for the challenge of raising a puppy or of training a younger dog. Bonus: She lets you sleep-in in the morning!
Dolly is believed to have been a former “mill mama”/breeder and has had a difficult life but you couldn’t tell it from her personality. One of the most affectionate and sweet dogs/boxers I’ve ever cared for, Dolly is content to lay on the couch with you or will follow you around and help you with whatever projects you’re working on. She loves attention and being petted and talked to, telling her what a good girl she is. Despite what is in her past, she still has the basic Boxer instincts of sweetness, sensitivity, loving people, and wanting to please you. Dolly is healthy, doesn’t appear to have any allergies, is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Dolly will reluctantly go in her kennel but seems fine once she’s in it. I’ve left her out alone for short periods and she has done just fine. She happily sleeps in her own bed at night in your room but would also sleep on the bed with you if you’d let her! She is potty trained but I’m training her to signal us with a jingle bell as well. She loves food and treats (is motivated to learn with treats) and will definitely watch you eat but she’s well-mannered and I haven’t found her to be food protective at all (I’ve had to stick my hand in her mouth to see what she found on the floor and she didn’t resist). She also lets me pick her up and lets me clip her nails!
After being a mill dog - and who knows what else she’s been through - she is dog reactive, so she would need to be the only dog in the home and she is also very interested in the local rabbit population so a fenced in yard would be ideal.
She is all of the best parts of a dog and a boxer and will make a snuggly (and wiggly) addition to your family!

Meet Zeke!
Zeke has enjoyed being outside the last few weeks with the nice weather, he has no problem going out when it is raining, wiping him off is a challenge though since he doesn't like being touched. He gets the zoomies when he comes in from outside sometimes, that is usually a sign that he has pooped. Him and our resident boxer like to play keep away, it is usually him chasing and eventually getting the toy. Between 9-9:30 pm he has had enough and whines to go outside and will typically put himself in his kennel letting you know that it is bedtime, although he currently is curled up in the dog bed occasionally whining because he thinks he should be in his kennel but for some reason he won't put himself to bed. My husband says that he really likes his walks and that he really only whines when he wants/needs something.

Congrats to Jasper who was adopted this summer by the Lauby family! They've sent us a note about how much they love him.
Welcome Jasper!!
There is an old saying I just made up “when it rains, look for rainbows, when it’s dark look for stars”. The day we met Deb to foster a beast named Jasper, rainbows and stars came to us in a dog named Jasper. On that grey and rainy day, while Mary may have originally wanted to fail on this foster because she had recently lost her best friend Brock, I really wasn’t interested in another dog so soon and we already had an old gal named Abbie. Jasper is an absolute “GALOOT”(look it up)with paws as big as his head and legs as long as pine trees. After just two days I knew he was staying. Mary on the other hand wasn’t so sure, due to the fact that Jasper seemed to want to be her best friend and being a galoot kept stepping on her feet, running into her whenever she moved and stealing her chair whenever she got up from it. While being the big galoot that he is, he can be very gentle when he wants some loving, with a soft paw or a chin on your lap. We took him to Wigglefest and it was there I said to Mary “he’s not leaving us”. Mary agreed and he had brightened our days and brought stars to Mary’s eyes every time he steps on her feet, which is often. I can honestly say I’ve never had a dog that talks to us like he does. What at first made us nervous, his growling/talking we were soon to learn that was his dog talk. Potty, food and pet me are just a few of his favorite growls/sayings. He absolutely loves his older sister Abbie and wants nothing more than to play.

🏠 FOSTER NEEDED:
We have another pair of bonded brothers needing a new home. Glenn and Gary (deafie) are popular with the volunteers at the shelter as they are the sweetest, happiest guys around. They'll be coming in next weekend, so we need a foster commitment by this weekend to coordinate transportation. Who is up for cuddles from these older dudes?
Reach out to Jean at [email protected] if you're interested in helping.
Thor is the chill dude who goes with the flow. He enjoys walking and prefers a fenced-in yard to have more time to run and play. He generally looks when his name is called and knows the commands to sit and come. Thor needs time to warm up to men and is not fond of cats. He is food-motivated and turns into a bit of a cartoon character trying to race to my bowl on the hard floor... I'm going so fast in my head, but my feet can't always get traction, so I'm basically running in place. Ha! You know me, I love my food! In typical boxer fashion, I would like a fenced yard to run around and enjoy rolling in the grass. If I'm on a tie-out, I'll do my business and become a statue. I love to greet new people and would make an excellent pet for a family with kids or would be content chilling with a retired family.

🏠 FOSTERS NEEDED:
Hey everyone! We have a few cuties ready to come into rescue. Can you help?
1. Willow is well socialized with people and animals, but has lived the kennel life with a local breeder. She had a rough go of it with a vaginal prolapse. Poor girl. She's ready for the good life! Who wants to help this girl learn what it means to be a well loved, indoor puppy dog?
2. Brutus and Junebug are brothers in need of a home. We'd like to keep them together, but the owner is willing to split them to get them into rescue. They're marked as bonded, but as long as they each go into a home with another dog, they'll be fine. They both seem pretty easy going. Who is up for one or both of these cuties?
Please reach out to Jean via email, [email protected]. Thank you!
