Kayaking is available at Coes Pond daily from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Anyone over the age of 16 years old can take out a single kayak, if you are under the age of 16 you must take out a double kayak and be accompanied by an adult.

Lifejackets must be worn by EVERYONE at all times.

There also is a 1-hour limit.

Trash and recycling will not be collected on Thursday, July 4, 2024, due to the Independence Day Holiday. Thursday’s collection will be on Friday, July 5, 2024, and Friday’s collection will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Trash and recycling will not be collected on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, due to the Juneteenth Holiday. Wednesday’s collection will be on Thursday, June 20, Thursday’s collection will be on Friday June 21, and Friday’s collection will be on Saturday, June 22.

The yard waste drop-off site located at 300 Chandler Street will be closed on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, due to graduation events taking place at Foley Stadium. The yard waste drop-off sites located at 299 Clark Street will be open from 8:30AM to 3:00PM and 1065 Millbury St. will be open from 8:30AM to 7:00PM.

The draft Worcester Mobility Action Plan (MAP) is available for public comment from May 20 - 31. The links to the draft MAP and the comment form can be found at https://www.worcesterma.gov/mobility/worcester-mobility-action-plan. The Worcester Mobility Action Plan for Safe, Equitable, and Sustainable Transportation is a long-range transportation plan that will guide the city in the implementation of identified policies, programs, strategies, and projects to improve the City’s transportation system. The MAP is based on the guiding vision that the City of Worcester’s transportation network should support people of all ages and abilities with safe, equitable, and sustainable mobility choices. Throughout the development of the MAP, the public provided concerns, ideas, questions, and comments about current transportation in Worcester—and the improvements needed for the future.
