KeystoneCare is the fortunate recipient of 10 handmade quilts by Eagle Scout Chip Amuso and a team of helpers. Chip is the son of Peter Amuso, our longtime board member. The quilts are beautifully designed and crafted, and our residents are thrilled with the warmth and comfort they provide.

KeystoneCare reminds you to be very careful in this period of extreme heat. Those especially at risk during extremely hot weather are very young children, the elderly, people with chronic medical conditions, and those taking certain medications. Pets need to be careful too. If you find you must leave your phone, tablet, or other device in a hot car during these extreme temperatures, here are some hints on how to protect them.

Here's how to protect phones, laptops and cars from damage in extreme heat Exposing electronics to intense weather can cause batteries to degrade and internal components to experience long-term harm.

Be cautious during the upcoming heatwave. Protect yourself and your loved ones by drinking plenty of water, using sunscreen, staying indoors or in the shade, and wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing. Remember to protect your pets too.

When outdoors in the heat, wear lightweight, loose-fitting, and light-colored clothing to reflect heat and sunlight. If you will be spending time outdoors, hats are also a good idea to protect your face and scalp from harmful UV rays. Also, don’t forget to apply sunscreen liberally. weather.gov/safety/heat

Keystone Hospice and Meals on Wheels program is in need of volunteers in numerous capacities.
We need:
1.Individuals to assist with packing our freshly prepared meals for our clients.
2.Individuals interested in assisting our executive chef with food prep (Thurs and/or Fri)
3.Individuals to deliver our freshly prepared meals to our clients.
4.Individuals to visit hospice patients in our hospice house and local facilities.
5.Individuals to assist with gardening tasks in our chemical free gardens.
6.Individuals to assist with fund raising and events.
