The Yakima River Runners is an evolution of the original Yakima Kayak club.

We're based in Yakima, WA and centered around whitewater kayaking, rafting, SUPing and white water recreation in and around Central Washington.

Spoke with the Bureau of Reclamation. They anticipate holding the Tieton at about 700 for the next week and a half then ramping it up over the last few days of the month. Labor Day weekend is like to be 1000 to 1500. Flows in September will be 1600 or higher. This is a lean water year, so flows may not be as high as they have been some years. They emphasized that they don't have a crystal ball and things might change a bit, but it appears there will still be plenty of water for river running. Here is the news release:

General Meeting and Cookout

Yakima River Runners general meeting and cookout on Saturday October 29 starting at 4 PM in Selah area. Host does not want to post address on Facebook so message this site to get location.

All members and boaters in the area are welcome to attend.
Meeting will cover elections, (the president is stepping down), pool practices and other items. Bring dues $25 per household.

The host will smoke chickens and a provide a cobbler fruit dessert. Bring beverages and a side dish. Will have a fire pit to hang out around.

Tieton release -- Bureau of Rec called - they're increasing the release out of Rimrock starting tonight with a target flow of 1,800. They plan to hold that flow for 3-4 days. See you on the river
