Being a first responder is a challenging job that involves responding to calls day and night, seeing patients in their time of need, offering help and support, and dealing with both positive and negative outcomes. Despite the difficult moments, being part of a team that keeps the community safe is a rewarding experience. We appreciate all of our staff here at ALS!! It's never said enough - Thank You for all you do! Happy EMS Week! And as always – Stay Safe!!

Month-long, half-mile traffic shift on westbound I-82 near Selah starts later this week
SELAH – Starting tomorrow, Sept. 7, a section of SR 823 between Selah and Yakima will close for two days in both directions as crews prepare for the traffic shift later this week. By Saturday morning, Sept. 10, all westbound traffic on I-82 will be shifted onto the half-mile section of SR 823 so that crews can repair the Twin Bridges (Yakima and Naches River Bridges). The project is estimated to take about a month to complete and the traffic shift will be in place 24/7. Travelers should add a couple minutes more of drive time during morning and evening commutes.
Yakima to Selah (westbound)
Travelers leaving Yakima, headed toward Selah/East Selah/Ellensburg, follow the signs through the half-mile traffic shift. Stay in the left lane of the detour to enter Selah, and the right lane for East Selah or Ellensburg.
Selah to Yakima (eastbound)
A section of SR 823 commonly known as The Interconnect or Selah Road will be closed to eastbound traffic. Travelers who normally take the route that goes directly from Selah to North 1st St. in Yakima, will need to take I-82 to Yakima Ave. or US 12 to 16th Ave. instead.
Access to Rest Haven Park & Ride and Harlan Landing
Westbound I-82 travelers will need to turn around at E. Selah Road (exit 29) then head east to exit 30 to access the Rest Haven Park and Ride and Harlan Landing.
From eastbound US 12
Traffic headed into Selah or Ellensburg will follow the detour route from N. 1st Street to SR 823.
