Annual apple picking ✅
We had the best time meeting our local EM-bound students for our medical student procedure day and open house! A huge thank you to all of our faculty and residents for taking the weekend to volunteers!
The future of EM is so so bright 🌟🌟🌟
Our amazing resident crew rocked the Mass Casualty Training Day! From tending to 'fake' patients with care to mapping out the hospital like pros, we had a great time working together as a team. 🏥
Its not too late to register for our procedure day in a few short weeks. Register for an opportunity to learn from our residents and faculty how to intubate, place a central line, suture, and so much more!
The event is free and open to all!
On this we’re sharing some of our favorite photos from graduation week! We miss the class of 2023 so so much!
Intern procedure lab was a blast this year! A big thank you to all of our attending and seniors for taking the morning to help out!
✨Congratulations to the class of 2023! ✨ We are so incredibly proud of the amazing physicians that you have become. You will be very missed!
Oh, the places you’ll go! 🐣🎓 Scroll through to find out where our grads are headed…
We successfully dug up our white coats for our annual family photo 🙌😂
The best thing about Wednesday conference is having lunch as a group after 💕
But if Dr. Kulkarni, our PD, is asking it is definitely all the education 🤫
How often to you send your patient to the cath lab and then get to watch their cardiac catheterization? This year, a CCU rotation was introduced to our PGY2 curriculum with great feedback! We have been able to spend a month caring for and learning from patients who are critically ill. Between decoding the squiggles on EKGs 🫠, interpreting echos, running codes, and playing with transvenous pacemakers this rotation has been A wonderful addition!
The best part? Meeting and working with residents from neighboring IM and EM programs!
to when our attending gave us matching bat necklaces on Halloween. We’re all friends here ♥️
Residency is different when your coresidents become your family 💕
🚨🚨NEW APD ALERT🚨🚨
We are so excited to ring in the new year with Dr. Stephanie Widmer as our new APD! Dr. Widmer, a Yonkers native, completed her residency and toxicology fellowship at Northshore-LIJ and has become one of our favorite attendings since joining our department last year and establishing our hospital’s tox service. We couldn’t be more excited to have her join our residency leadership!! 🙌♥️
🚨🚨NEW APD ALERT 🚨 🚨
This week in conference we were so lucky to celebrate the return of Dr. Yomna Nassef to the ER and welcome her to our residency leadership as our new APD. Dr. Nassef is unanimously one of our favorite attendings and we couldn’t be happier with her joining our residency leadership! ♥️
Spooky conference day today 👻
On behalf of all of the residents we extend our warmest welcome to our newest faculty member Dr. Nicholas Otts! 🤗
Nicholas Otts grew up in New Orleans, where he attended LSU Medical School. He did ED residency at Northwell Staten Island University Hospital, and PEM fellowship at NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He joins our team from WMC/Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, where he will continue to work per diem as a pediatric emergency medicine attending. His primary interests are emergency medicine residency education with a PEM focus.
We cannot wait to learn from you!
sim wars was a success this year! We had such a great time competing with other programs in our area last week. Huge thanks to for organizing this event (and giving us a very yummy lunch)!
The best part about this was definitely getting to compete on our all PGY-2 team and winning along side our best friends ♥️
A huge thank you to our ultrasound faculty and our US, Med-Ed , and sports med bound residents for putting together this wonderful nerve block workshop for us and our attendings this week! We so appreciate you and can’t wait to put our new skills to good use 💉
We had a wonderful time in Malta at ! Conferences are such a treat when we get to spend them with our ER family ♥️
ACEP photo dump! We had an amazing time presenting our posters, watching lecture, and getting to catch up with some of our alum! ♥️
As a reminder, our program sponsors all of our PGY-3s to go to ACEP and any resident who’s presenting regardless of PGY-level.
