Pending a number of hurdles, and environmental approval or exemption the sight has been identified as the likely location for a new Yucca Valley Fire Station. The current station, built in 1959, has outgrown its capacity due to substantial population increase and tourism growth in the area. The County considers replacement of the station a high priority.

•3-6” rain in the High Desert area.
•High Desert: Severe to extreme runoff and flash flooding. Loss of roads, mudslides, water flow in drainages with overflow expected from 12-9pm Sunday.
•Flood watch Sunday afternoon-evening.
•Most activity in the afternoon on Sunday; strongest rainfall at 1-2” per hour in bursts.
•Considered a tropical storm with sustained winds of at least 40mph. Winds should be considered alongside damage from rainfall.
•By midnight storm is expected to have passed to the North in the direction of Mojave making it way as far as out to Mammoth by then.
•Monday/Tuesday isolated showers in more typical areas.

This Saturday: The FLYING DOCTORS will provide FREE dental and vision care to adults and children on Saturday, March 4, 7:30a to 4:00p at the Bell Center on the Copper Mountain College campus.
Non-appointment walk-ins cannot be guaranteed services and will be seen between scheduled appointments. Walk-ins may begin line-up at 6a for both vision and dental services.
