So today is the last day The Mystic Parlor will be open to the public in a brick and mortar space. I’ve been trying to find the words to describe the immense amount of gratitude, appreciation and love I feel for this community. It’s been an absolute whirlwind the last couple of weeks and I am totally BLOWN AWAY by all the support and how many people showed up to say goodbye and offer words of gratitude. 💜💜😭😭💜💜
We’ve just about completely sold out of EVERYTHING and had over 100 online orders! Almost all of the furniture is sold and going to good homes which I am so happy about. All of the furniture in the parlor was painstakingly thrifted and curated so it warms my heart to know it’s all going to people who love the pieces as much as I do. (There are only a couple things left and I’ve posted in the stories).

Today I sat in the hot springs for an hour to rejuvenate because I felt like I was hit by a truck this morning when I woke up. The after I tore through all the online orders 💪

Ma’at is the Egyptian goddess deity that is a personification of truth, justice, wisdom, law, harmony and the seasons. She is the goddess that all souls meet after their departure from the material plane. Before the soul can transcend up into the cosmic ethers and re-unify with the great source, it must be judged by Ma’at *. The way Ma’at is able to tell if a soul is worthy of transcendence, she weighs it with her ostrich feather. Ma’at was born from Ra (The Sun) and Hathor (The Moon), she is the goddess of the equinoxes and is present in many celebrations of balance and harmony. Her connection to Libra is uncanny, she uses the scales of justice to weigh the heart, the scale is the only inanimate object in the zodiac and is the symbol for Libra. Ma’at represented the daily law and practices that the citizens of Egypt were expected to follow in their everyday life and Libra’s ruler Venus, the Roman goddess of justice is the deity that we all unknowingly follow as the ruler of the justice systems in government courts. Hence why you will often see depictions of owls, a woman with a sword, scales or blindfolded on court room seals. These symbols are reused throughout the world in various ways and stems from our relationship to the cosmos but more specifically, the relationship between the Sun and the Moon.

✨ Our little parlor area for walk in readings ✨ We has this grand vision of having the “parlor” portion of the business in the back room for walk in tarot and astrology readings. We also wanted to create stations where we could host other tarot, astrology, numerology etc readers. Because of Covid we haven’t been able to do walk-in readings. Since the space is so small and intimate it doesn’t allow for social distancing and that’s why we’ve been giving readings solely online. We’ve been giving readings online for years in our own individual practices though so it’s nothing new for us. Some people prefer the in-person experience but to be totally honest, especially moving into this new age of Aquarius, it almost doesn’t make a difference! Our world is digital now and when Saturn moves into Aquarius in December, it will be quite a noticeable transition from in person to online for a lot of businesses. Because we live in such a remote place we are truly blessed to be able to connect with so many people all over the world with the advent of the internet. Soon enough, you’ll be able to walk right in and plop down in our cozy reading nook and get a reading from us and we are so looking forward to when that day comes. Each candle has been cleansed with hand rolled copal and dressed with organic lavender from Evelyn’s garden, mugwort and rose petals, Copaipa essential oil, and silver and blue glitter. ⠀
We chose the Virgin Mary candle for the Virgo New Moon because she embodies the energy of devotional spiritual practice. She is an archetype that can be found in many fertility goddesses that share their abundance and divine feminine spirit to all who call upon them. ⠀
We sat with the concept of Mary, Magdalene, Ceres and Vesta and came up with a divinely rich ritual that involves creating your very own magical talisman.
