So you guys saw our Story Time yesterday regarding the USA couple and the donation and what we did with the donation. Alhumdulilaah, we had a pot of akni made with the donation and distributed the food to the poor and hungry. Yaaaaaa Allah accept the good intentions from the couple from USA, Khan's Akni and SIBS. Ameen

We want to stress that we haven't sold Sushi in a long time. And yes, our signage says SIBS Tacos And Sushi. We had intentions to start a Sushi truck, but that will be delayed until next year sometime InShaa Allah.

Guys, my wife is almost 8 months pregnant, and with this comes a short fuse. i think everyone knows a pregnant woman is an emotional wreck, lol. Im sure the customer didnt know she's pregnant. We had an incident with a customer sarcastically referencing the Sushi issue and it being misleading. my wife explained that we don't sell Sushi and the customer kept on. My wife eventually got a bit annoyed, and the customer walked away. I got there when the customer just walked away and didn't or couldn't speak to her.
Please note that we are going to update our signage in the coming weeks.

Then, a customer asked me to recommend an item for him to try. I said we have Beef, Prawn and Steak.
He said thats not what he asked. He asked what I would recommend. Lol
I was a bit annoyed, and yes, I didn't answer his question. But I gave him our menu. He asked me again, and I said the prawn combo.
He came to me a bit later and we chatted for 30mins and he was really impressed with the tacos. We spoke about his travels overseas and the foods he ate. And apparently, he does the same wherever he goes. He asks what the chef or waiter recommends. So happy that ended well, lol.

We will be increasing the price of the prawn combos and prawn burgers by R20. Prawn is leka expensive. Probably in Oct

Story Time is a bit early

The couple from USA donated R3200 to SIBS as a business. We had a bit of back and forth as we did not want to accept it. They said they feel a strong connection with SIBS and feel we are so cheap with our food. And they have eaten at lots of places in Cape Town.

We suggested to them that we would take the donation and donate it to the poor by making Taco Combos. They agreed.

After they left, we thought making a pot of Akni instead, and this would feed a lot more people. At the same time, we are using an upcoming business that makes pots of food. Khan's Akni(poster attached) for contact details. 0834216417

We would like to say shukran to Khan's Akni for accommodating us on such short notice. We received some pics of them dishing the food to the poor and wish not to share the pics on Socials.

We would like to say shukran to the couple from the USA, and we are so grateful and humbled. And the amazing support they showed SIBS and the staff with the tips.

So this is the couple from USA, Washington DC, who tried our Tacos 4 weeks ago. They gave the staff a R500 tip the last time.

They are leaving RSA tomorrow, and their words were, "we need to have your Tacos before we leave. They Uber to Ottery from CBD.

They ordered and ate here at FTV Ottery and we chatted for 30mins. And what amazing people and amazing feedback they gave us. From seeing our Socials while USA and following our page and journey and how we deal with our customers online and reviews. We really don't know what to say.

They said SIBS are they best Tacos they ever ate, and that's why they are back. And a few places in Cape Town. Even better than tacos in the USA. This is an amazing compliment, and we appreciate this so much. We are humbled. We are grateful. Alhumdulilaah

They gave the staff a R1000 tip this time. WOW!!!!

Managing this business, my wife admitted to hospital the weekend and my son having a birthday. Yoh it was a bietjie hectic.

A few months ago, my wife and I had a convo about doing something for our amazing customers. Things get so busy, and we totally forgot about the discussion we had. A customer bought on Sunday and asked, "we loyal customers we follow you all over. Any discount"
So we remembered the convo we had.
So here goes. We are hoping to introduce a SIBS Loyalty Card. Every customer can ask for a card and get a sticker with every purchase. Once the card is full on the 10th purchase, you get a free Combo or TacoBurger with whatever you are purchasing.
Please watch this space. we will be updating you guys once we are ready.
