About Us:
Established in 1973, in the heart of apartheid, Cosy Corner was founded by the Hartley family, who presently own and operate the famous halal eatery. Situated in Wynberg for half a century, Cosy Corner has been forging deep connections with the community, through the love of food.

Open Roles

Chef:
Lead our kitchen team in creating delicious and high-quality dishes! You'll oversee menu development, ensure food safety standards, and manage kitchen operations to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests. We require a minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, strong culinary skills, excellent leadership and communication abilities, adherence to food safety regulations.

General Kitchen Staff:
You’ll be the backbone of our kitchen! Assisting our chefs with food prep, maintaining a clean and organised workspace, and ensuring a smooth flow in the back of the house are just some of your responsibilities. An eagerness to learn, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong work ethic, excellent communication and teamwork skills is a requirement.

Barista:
You'll be responsible for preparing and serving espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, and other beverages. A friendly smile and customer service skills are a must! A passion for coffee, ability to operate espresso machines and grinders, excellent customer service skills, knowledge of different coffee drinks and brewing methods is what we require.

Counter Staff:
Be the face of our restaurant! You'll greet customers, take orders, ensure a clean and inviting dining area, and provide exceptional service. Positive and outgoing personality, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively, attention to detail is needed for this role.

Cashier:
Ensure a smooth checkout experience for our guests! You'll handle cash and credit card transactions, maintain a clean register area, and provide excellent customer service. Accuracy and proficiency in cash handling, strong math skills, excellent customer service skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is required.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a takeaways or restaurant setting.
- Fluent in English.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service etiquette.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
- Resides in the Southern Suburbs.
