Portraits of Love

When Ksheera invited me to her home for a portrait session with her beloved dogs, I knew it would be a session filled with love, laughter, and a dash of chaos. With six dogs ranging in size, breed, and personality, it was bound to be an adventure. From a majestic golden retriever to a 6-week-old chihuahua puppy named Gucci, each dog had its own unique charm that made this session unforgettable.

Ksheera’s bond with her dogs was evident in every shot. Whether it was a candid moment of her cuddling with Ohana or a playful interaction with Gucci, the love she has for her pets came through beautifully in the photos. Despite the challenges of getting all six dogs to cooperate, the end result was a collection of portraits that perfectly encapsulate the joy and companionship that pets bring into our lives.

This session was a reminder that sometimes, it’s the simple setups and the unscripted moments that create the most meaningful images.

Ksheera and her dogs were a joy to work with, and I’m thrilled to have captured their story in these photographs. It was a session full of heart, humor, and a whole lot of love.

When Zeinat & Yinka envisioned their dream wedding, they imagined a place where the natural beauty of the landscape could blend seamlessly with whimsical elegance.

Their vision came to life in the heart of Franschhoek at the stunning La Paris Estate, a venue known for its lush hills and timeless charm. Coordinated to perfection by Precious the Planner, this wedding was a flawless ex*****on of romance and sophistication.

The decor was a romantic symphony of purple and lilac hues, perfectly complemented by whimsical touches. Overhanging centerpieces created an ethereal atmosphere, with an abundance of florals adding a lush, garden-like feel to the entire venue.

These design choices transformed La Paris Estate into a floral wonderland, capturing the essence of a modern fairytale.

Among the many special touches, two elements stood out, creating delightful and unforgettable moments for the guests. The drink bell-ringing service during canapés was a unique way to engage guests and keep the atmosphere lively.

Equally enchanting was the custom-designed kissing booth bar, a playful and romantic spot that added a touch of whimsy and fun to the celebrations.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of Franschhoek’s hills and the floral abundance of La Paris Estate, Z&Y’s wedding was a perfect blend of elegance, whimsy, and romance.

It was a day where every detail, from the decor to the special touches, came together to create a truly modern fairytale.

This destination wedding was not just a celebration of love but also a testament to the magic that can happen when dreams are brought to life in such a breathtaking setting.

Our setting for this shoot, the illustrious Casa L***a in Muizenberg, Cape Town, offers a splendid backdrop, reminiscent of opulent European salons. Originally built in the 1920s, Casa L***a embodies the grandeur and sophistication of a bygone era, making it a perfect location for showcasing such period-inspired attire.

Dearest readers, it has come to my attention that the unpredictable whims of winter have kept many of us confined indoors, indulging in the comfort of a cozy fire and perhaps a season or two of our beloved Bridgerton. It is on such occasions that one is reminded of the whimsical allure of costume history, a subject I have adored since my University days.

The esteemed Rene H and I found ourselves delightfully connected through our mutual appreciation for fashion that transcends time. Rene’s remarkable talent for creating beautifully elaborate gowns is nothing short of a revelation.

With Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte fresh in my mind, I find it only fitting to revisit and share Part 1 of this gorgeous concept shoot circa 2019, where the elegance of yesteryear graces our present day.

Happy Anniversary my Love !!!

8 years of marriage to the man few people get to meet. His support and love has made me the wife , mother and photographer I am today.

No shoot idea is too crazy to achieve , especially with my underwater photography where he has been the driving force behind making it all work. Building rigs and figuring out lighting because being creative only gets you that far 😂 things actually need to be practical and work. And be safe.

Late night coffee making when I’m editing. Waiting up when I finish late at a wedding or event to help me carry my bags in after 12 hours of work. Getting up early for the kids so I can have that bit of extra sleep.

My dreams are achievable because of you.

There’s something truly magical about a couple’s pre-wedding session, where the excitement and anticipation of the upcoming wedding day is captured.

Primrose and Taiye chose two exquisite outfits for their session. The first was a gold ensemble that immediately brought to mind the opulence of Bridgerton.

The intricate details and luxurious fabric of Primrose’s dress, combined with the classic architecture of the manor, transported us to a world of regency romance and grandeur.

Every photograph from this segment of the shoot radiated a sense of regal sophistication as if they were characters straight out of a romance novel.
