Parking alert!

The Springboks and All Blacks are coming to town. This means that next Saturday (7 Sept) is going to be a busy day around the Cape Town Stadium. Plan ahead and park at the V&A Waterfront so you can skip traffic jams, indulge in a pre-drink and then enjoy a beautiful walk across to the game.

Parking garages at Battery Park, Silo District and Clock Tower will be ready to welcome the extra load of cars.

“The whole sustainable aspect of working on Our Better Nature opens your mind up to thinking about ways of doing things that are better for our planet,” says Centre Design’s Brendan Wessels, whose team engineered the larger-than-life shopping-trolley installation hanging in Victoria Wharf.

In this showstopper piece, old plastic bags have been crocheted by Re Bag Re Use to make us think about how we can have less impact on nature by being clever about our retail waste.

Our Ocean Light Festival last night was a mesmerising event filled with locally crafted jellyfish that lit up Alfred Square in a dazzling spectacle of light after dark. Visitors and guests were so inspired by the creative energy that's been channelled in support of our oceans. ​

On Saturday night we kick off with our mesmerising Ocean Light Festival a free magical evening aglow with captivating entertainment for the whole family. We partnered with local makers, designers and skilled artisans who have been working hard behind the scenes to get our magnificent installations.

We are excited to share with you what we, together with our team of collaborators have been up to. Already in Victoria Wharf, you can catch a glimpse of the hugest shopping trolley you’ve ever seen, decorated with old plastic bags that have been expertly crocheted by .bag.re.use. It’s part of our mission to create more awareness around our fragile ocean environment, because when we act from our better nature, nature gets better.
