Northdene Preparatory School
Established in 1952, our school has grown from strength to strength. Our motto is "True Heart".
People who help us- our everyday heroes!
In Grade 3, learners explored the theme "People Who Help Us," focusing on the roles of community helpers and their contributions to society. To bring this theme to life, each learner came to school dressed as the professional they admire—like doctors, firefighters, teachers, nurses, electricians, police officer and so much more - and delivered an oral presentation. They shared why these helpers are important, showing an impressive understanding of these roles. It was truly inspiring to see their enthusiasm and appreciation for these everyday heroes!
Congratulations to Isabella Clark, the learner who sold the most amount of booklets from Grades R to 6 for the Grade 7 Ball raffle! She sold an impressive 14 booklets, raising R2800. Well done, Isabella. We are so proud of you.

We are exceptionally proud of the hard work and pleasing results that our swimmers have produced this year! Always remember to just keep swimming.
Manners are important!
At our recent Grade 4 and 5 assembly, the focus was all about good manners! The learners explored the importance of being polite, respectful, and kind to one another in both words and actions. It was a great opportunity to remind everyone that showing good manners not only makes our school a better place but also reflects our values as individuals. Let's continue practising kindness and respect in all that we do!

Congratulations to Mr. W. Strydom!
We are thrilled to celebrate our Grade 5 educator, Mr. Strydom, who participated in and successfully completed the Amashova Race this past weekend!
The 2024 Amashova Durban Classic is one of South Africa's oldest and most popular cycling event, starting in Pietermaritzburg and finishing at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. This year, cyclists could choose from four distances: 132 km, 106 km, 65 km, and 38 km, catering to various abilities, all while enjoying the scenic beauty of KwaZulu-Natal. The longest route begins at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site in Howick.
Mr. Strydom participated to raise funds for the Rainbows and Smiles Foundation which is a community based charitable foundation dedicated to providing emotional, social and financial support to children diagnosed with cancer or a life- threatening illness, and their families and care-givers. Mr Strydom completed the longest distance (132km) and we couldn’t be prouder of his dedication and achievements!

Through interactive activities, they learned how to listen carefully while performing basic first aid techniques. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that not only taught them valuable life skills but also brought lots of laughter and fun into the classroom!

Celebrating Our Heroes: A Tribute to our Educators
In the heart of our school community, there are unsung heroes who shape futures, ignite passions, and inspire greatness every single day. As we celebrate Teachers' Day, we want to take a moment to express our deep gratitude to the incredible educators at NPS who dedicate themselves to nurturing young minds.
Teachers are more than instructors; they are mentors, role models, and cheerleaders all rolled into one. They tirelessly work behind the scenes, preparing lessons, guiding learners, and instilling values that go far beyond textbooks. Their impact extends beyond the classroom, shaping the leaders and thinkers of tomorrow.
At NPS, we are blessed with a team of passionate educators who exemplify dedication and kindness in everything they do. They not only educate but also empower, believing in each child's potential, guiding them towards success.
Teachers' Day is not just a date on the calendar; it's a reminder to cherish and celebrate these everyday heroes who play a pivotal role in shaping our children's futures. It's a time to reflect on the profound influence of teachers in our lives and in society as a whole. Teachers we salute you!
