"We study history not to be clever in another time, but to be wise always."
Marcus Tullius Cicero

Our Grade 8 and 9 learners had an historical morning at the M.O.T.H Museum of Militaria in the Durban CBD. This military museum showcases exhibits on various conflicts, including World War I and II and the Boer War. The museum has a collection of artifacts, medals, and uniforms.

Thank you Mr Gerrie for hosting us, for the informative tour and for answering all our questions.

Excursion 2024
"Not all classrooms have four walls"

The learners had an adventurous day. They were pushed out of their comfort zones and challenged physically and mentally.
They focused on teamwork and cheering on their peers - when things got tough, they kept each other going (Yay! for the Power of Encouragement).
Well done!

Human Rights Day (21 March) holds immense significance in South Africa, commemorating the Sharpeville massacre of 1960 when police opened fire on peaceful protesters, killing 69 and injuring hundreds. This tragic event became a catalyst for the anti-apartheid movement.
Today, Human Rights Day in South Africa serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for equality, justice, and the protection of human dignity. It celebrates the progress made in advancing human rights while acknowledging the challenges that still persist, inspiring continued efforts towards a more just and inclusive society.

Term 1 for 2024 has been quite the whirlwind filled with adventures in and beyond the classroom.

On Saturday, 25 November, we had the wonderful opportunity to be a pit stop for the Amazing Race Dbn North/Umhlanga.

The task: Teams had to paint their hands and create a pattern with their handprints. All the teams were such good sports. We loved the competitiveness.

It was a pleasure being a part of this event and we are looking forward to future ones.
