Understanding = acceptance + affirmation. Binah creates awareness for children with special needs so that society understands and accepts them.
So true. When our children grow up they still have additional needsπ

May is International Phenylketonuria Awareness month. Phenylketonuria (PKU) is an inborn error of metabolism that results in decreased metabolism of the amino acid phenylalanine. Untreated PKU can lead to intellectual disability, seizures, behavioral problems, and mental disorders.
Migael, son of Johan and Mariza van Deventer, was diagnosed with PKU at the age of 5 after tests were done in France. He was adopted at the age of 2 and no-one knew of his inborn error of metabolism. Migael has a number of challenges because of the late diagnosis (ASD, ADHD). PKU can be detected at birth by doing a simple blood test. Children diagnosed at birth can lead more or less normal lives. Help us create awareness and effect livesπ
Wow! Thank you for your hearts!π

We're running out of wall space and we're loving it!
All the Ukuwela Program candidates who have been employed for a year!
Back in 2017, we were so inspired by a Cat Footwear shoebox lid that read: 'We are earthmovers and shakers, finders, seekers, big thinkers, risk takers, we are generation makers'. We had no candidates on the wall, only the shoebox lid. And look at our wall today! Congratulations to every candidate who breaks ground and paves the way for those to come! Don't you dare dis my ability!

The message that "special needs children are different, not less" will be on everyone's lips as the Binah LOLLIPOP awareness campaign started for the 7th consecutive year recently.
The campaign coincides with National Disability Rights Awareness Month (3 November to 3 December). 3 December is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and is also celebrated as National Disability Rights Awareness Day.
Members of the public can show their support by purchasing lollipops at Kloppers George. It is the 7th year that Kloppers is supporting this initiative and this stalwart in the Garden Route Business sector is really throwing its weight behind the special needs community of George.
Funds raised during the campaign will again be utilised to empower the special needs community of George by means of information and training.
Thank you to the WONDERFUL people of Kloppers George for driving this initiative with so much passion!
Thank you Murray for giving is a glimpse of your worldπ
