During the extreme cold weather and also being without electricity GAFA together with Reef Caterers ensured that we had warm soup for our residents three days in a row. It was well appreciated.

We would like to Thank Ekurhuleni Water and sanitation department who came onto our premises and helped us fill our containers for our residents.

Pick & Pay made a turn by GAFA and brought 10 BBG chickens, 6 dozen breadrolls and salads. We truly appreciate the support.

We would like to thank Laerskool Oosterkruin for their generous donation of tootbrushes and toothpaste, toilet paper, tissue, hand creme and hand soap and all the other lovely goodies included.

The Go Active Team worked really hard to get all the Jumble sale items available. We want to thank the team for their hard work. We also want to thank everybody who made an extra effort and gave additional support to make a great success of the Jumble Sale of the previous weekend. Thank you

Pick and Pay donated hot cross buns and easter eggs to GAFA yesterday. The staff and residents were extra excited and truly enjoyed it.

GAFA had its Annual General Meeting on the 5 of April 2023. It was a well attended meeting and a lot of our new residents attended and found it most interesting. Afterwards we had snacks and a good chat amongst each other.

GAFA enjoyed their April braai on the 1st of April in the Recreation Hall. Lots of new residents joined the party. Good company and good food.

What fun we had when the Smiley Kids Bunny visited House Protea Care Centre and gave the residents Easter eggs.

Leeuwenhof Pre School Academy. The Pre School Academy and teachers visited our residents in December 2022. The children drew pictures for each resident which really lightened up their day. The children sang songs to the residents and everybody tapped with their feet to the lyrics of the songs. GAFA also had a surprise. We had Gabi the therapy miniature pony who interacted with the children as well as the residents. We want to thank everyone who made this day a very special day.

What an eventful lunch did the residents have with our Fish & Chips lunch. We had entertainment lovely food and it was great that the residents could relax and have an old timer meal together.

Our Staff had a great session on Wednesday the 25th of January about diversity in the work place - promoting tolerance & wellbeing. We had a theoretical part where Betty Gololo gave great information. Mavis Tshokolo did the practical part, where staff was divided in groups and had to play out certain scenario's.
