Who we are

Once in Joburg is an all-star hotel where you can tailor make your own experience. We offer accommodation that straddles the line between three star boutique hotel and vibrant backpackers hostel. Centrally located in the bustling Braamfontein creative precinct, it offers young at heart travellers a safe place from which to SLEEP, EAT and EXPLORE the city of Johannesburg.

Our rooms are neat, clean and ensuite, offering basic luxuries such as air conditioner, crisp white linen, flat screen TV's (privates only), safety deposit box and block out curtains. Breakfast is included in our on-site bar and restaurant. Shared rooms (sleeping maximum 4) are also ensuite, and offer a more budget offering to the independent traveller.

The reception and concierge are open 24 hours, and our staff are city ambassadors who share their passion for Johannesburg. You can book all your transfers to Kruger, Bazbus tickets and local day trips from here. We would also love to share our knowledge about local happenings, events and much more in the surrounding area.

We also regularly host in-house events for locals and travellers alike and take people to all the most popular music festivals around the country.

Within walking distance of Once in Joburg, you'll find coffee roasters and coffee shops, restaurant, live music venues, farmers markets, free walking tours, the red city bus stop and much more.

Reaching Once in Joburg: easy access from the airport with the Gautrain, a world class transport service. Once you reach PARK STATION, head over to the Joburg tourism office, or the City Sightseeing Bus service office, and we'll send a walking shuttle to fetch you.
