Yesterday Gracepoint Women’s Manyano handed out winter blankets at Phelang (Clay Oven) and Refilwe to the church and community members. They also provided the community with soup and rolls to keep them warm as we prepared for the handing over of the blankets. The children we also given party packs. We would like to thank the Gracepoint Members and Gracepoint Women’s Manyano for making it possible for both communities to be touched in this way.

On Tuesday our Wool Warriors knitting and crocheting group was joined by the knitting and crocheting group from Refilwe. New friendships were formed and expertise and laughter was shared by all.

Today's Children's Ministry Training session, the focus was on the New Curriculum. The Teachers help section, how to use the program, the components, how to adapt the lessons and much more! This team is really excited about developing their ministry, and making Sundays, the best hour of a child's week. I'm so proud of their creativity, their effort and how they are growing and developing as a team!

Reaffirmation of baptism with the Alpha team supporting!

Pentecost Sunday was a busy day with baptisms and membership acceptance. It’s always a joy to welcome new members to the Gracepoint family.

Today's Children's Ministry Training, "Games that teach, and some for fun!" was a lot of fun! Everyone had a good time and learned some new skills to use in their ministry.

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, 10 days after Ascension day, and 40 days after Jesus' resurrection.

In Acts 1 Jesus talks plainly about the Holy Spirit: "3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. 4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

6 Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Hey. Greg here. I've been blessed & changed by the opportunity to spend so much time over the last 20 years worshipping God with the gathered local church. It's been a deeply meaningful journey for me. Sometimes I'm aware of God's Presence, & sometimes I'm not. I love the saying "you miss a 100% of the shots you don't take". Many times when I haven't felt like worshipping God, & still gave what I could, God has graciously used that to grow me in ways that leaves me so grateful.
Something really good happens deep within our being when we get beyond our focus on ourselves, activate our faith, & worship God.
So... We're meeting together to worship God for our next Closer at 6pm on Sunday 12 May at Gracepoint. We'd love to see you there! Please feel free to bring errrrbody (including your Mom's, since it's going to be Mother's Day)
