Lovely weather for the ball machine and to do some video analysis 🏏
Every session with us has a plan and a purpose.
Here’s a simple yet highly effective warmup/fielding drill that we make use of to get our athletes warmed up for their session
Quick feet through the ladder
-gets the arms moving and activates the legs
Squat jump over hurdles
-activating the glutes, explosive dynamic movements
Pick up and throw
-being able to concentrate at the task at hand after going through the obstacles and simulating a runout opportunity. Created scenarios of being under pressure as one would be in a game

When the pressure is on in a game, it’s a different kind of pressure. How you perform in a game depends on your preparation.
We put our players under pressure with various drills.
Here, a simple warmup where glutes and quads are being activated by squat jumps both forward and sideways .
Calves are being activated by having quick feet through the ladder and ending off with some catching.
To add pressure, a Katchet is used for deflections and a flexi fielding stump as a distraction and also mimics a deflection off the bat as if you’re at first slip.
Performance is a lock, correct preparation is the key and we are the locksmiths🔐

A broad overview of how our sessions are structured:
1- Coaches are punctual and ready to coach
2- A general warm-up is done by the cricketer
3- Short discussion between player and coach to establish areas of concern and achievements from games/practices
4- Net session will be a continuation from the previous sessions development's
5- After every session time is taken to write down the sessions aims/objectives/points to work on in an academy issued cricket journal

3 reasons why a bowling machine is so important during coaching:
1) It is more accurate than a coach throwing therefore if you're working on shot specifics, you can repeatidly get a simular delivery
2) It gives a more realistic delivery trajectory at various speeds therefore in various age group categories
3) The ball will get presented, much like in the bowlers gather, and then it disappears into the feeder and then gets spit out.
Being able to keep still and wait for the ball to come out, instead of going at the ball and moving early, is critical in the overall shot placement.
Prime example of practise makes perfect 👌🏻
Some top tips to note in this video are:
✅ Mentally switched on in the field
✅ Walking in with the bowler
✅ Moving your feet
✅ Keeping your eye on the ball into your hands, or in this case ‘hand’ 😜
The more you practise the easier it becomes 😉
