FEATURE FRIDAY: Our favourite part of the project is the opportunity to collaborate with amazing authors and illustrators to produce the local storybooks. The theme this year was fairytales set in an African context, and Siphokazi Madlingozi and Anastasya Eliseeva partnered up to create 'The Sparrow and the Horned Nightbird'.

In the story, the sparrow is granted five wishes by the magical horned nightbird. He uses them to adopt the qualities of other birds he admires but ends up complicating his life and losing his flock. The experience teaches him that self-love and acceptance are the real keys to happiness.
