A Big Thank You Again to Our Amazing Sponsors! 🙌
As a team of passionate runners, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible companies who sponsored our clothing for the marathon in support of the City Changers Foundation: CCI Professional, TheFoundery NeuroNex Coaching, and Farm World, a division of the Grassroots Group. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Your generosity not only helped us look and feel great while we ran but also played a huge part in raising awareness for a cause close to our hearts. The City Changers Foundation is doing vital work in promoting socio-economic development, and thanks to your support, we were able to bring attention to their efforts during the race. 💪✨
We encourage other businesses to join us in making a real difference by investing in organisations like the City Changers Foundation . Together, we can create lasting change and build stronger communities! 🌍🤝
Thank you once again to our sponsors for believing in this mission and running alongside us—literally and figuratively! 🏅

CCI Professional collaborated with the new House Committee members of Tuks’ postgraduate residences for a weekend of leadership training. These leaders will be guiding their residences for the next 12 months. Our focus was on defining leadership and understanding what it means to achieve goals through others. True leaders have the ability to share a vision or dream, inspire others, and work together to accomplish that goal. We explored historical figures and heroes who successfully rallied people around their vision of a better future, even in the face of opposition and differing viewpoints. Using CCI Professional’s ‘Authentic Leadership’ model, we concentrated on two key components: helping leaders understand their own identity and who they are, and fostering intentionality by setting clear intentions for each residence’s goals in the coming year to achieve meaningful success.
CCI Professional had the privilege of working with 260 members of the TUKS RES HCs, guiding them through a comprehensive leadership development process. This took place over three consecutive weekends in August. Centred around the theme of ‘Authentic Leadership,’ the program aimed to equip each participant with the tools to understand their roles, not just on a personal level but also within their residences, teams, university, and the broader context of South Africa. The focus was on helping them practically plan how to execute their roles within each of these spheres of influence.
CCI Professional had the privilege during the month of August in supporting the Tuks Residencies’ HC Chairs during their leadership retreat. Our focus was on ‘Leadership & Management’, where we delved into practical strategies to harness the power of both leadership and management in driving exceptional outcomes through people.
Thank you Lourens Delport for facilitating this session for us.
We recently had the privilege of spending another MAP session with the ETR Construction team, discussing how a company's culture affects every part of a business and how it functions and exploring the different ways in which it runs through every member of the organisation.
This team is definitely on fire and every time we meet with them we get to celebrate how their team has grown!
With the previous session we celebrated the addition of RueJean and this session we could celebrate the addition of Yorke! We are so excited about what the future holds for Hannes and his team at ETR Construction.
What does your company's culture look like? Is it something that is carried through in your whole organisation or just some nice ideas? Perhaps it's time you have a coffee with one of our team members.
Thank you Marcel Hattingh for facilitating this session for us.
Reflections from the Race: Inspiring Change Through Running
1. The Power of Trust
Running for hours on end gives you a lot of time to think, and in that solitude, you find yourself leaning into trust—trust in the Lord, in your crew, in the race organisers, and even in the runners alongside you. It’s this collective trust that keeps you moving forward, despite the challenges. This experience mirrors what our society desperately needs: a restoration of trust. Without trust, we can’t mend the fractured relationships or drive the transformation necessary to heal our broken systems. Just like in a race, where trust in those around you is essential to reach the finish line, our communities need that same foundation to thrive and grow.
2. Prioritising Wellbeing
In any race, preparation is key. If you neglect your physical, emotional, or spiritual wellbeing, you’ll quickly run out of steam. It’s not just about crossing the finish line; it’s about how you get there. This is true in life as well—we often fall into routines, doing the same things day in and day out without taking the time to check in with ourselves. How are we nurturing our wellbeing? During the toughest parts of the race, these thoughts flood your mind: “Could I have trained harder? Prepared better?” It’s in those moments that you realize the importance of every decision you’ve made leading up to this point—whether it was skipping a run, indulging a little too much, or neglecting proper rest. To be at your best, to be the person you’re meant to be, you must prioritize your wellbeing and constantly strive to improve.
3. Finding Your “Why”
Why are you running this race? Is it for personal glory or something greater? When the race gets tough, and every part of you wants to quit, it’s your purpose that keeps you moving. The Harties Trail Experience is no easy feat—80 kilometers of rugged terrain that test your limits. But when the going gets tough, it’s knowing that your run is about more than just yourself—it’s about making a real difference for a cause greater than your own ego. This clarity of purpose is essential, not just in running but in all aspects of life. You can’t wander aimlessly and hope to create a lasting impact. You need to know your “why,” and let it drive you toward your goals, no matter how challenging the path may be.
On the 3rd of August, a team of 9 runners participated in the Harties Trail Experience on behalf of the City Changers Marathon Club in promotion of the City Changers Foundation and the amazing work that they do through their various projects. Three of these runners took on the 80km trail and triumphed. Well done Bertus Mouton, Marius Van Rensburg and Marcel Hattingh, you did brilliantly!
Ulindi Mouton , Zanti Hattingh , Fred Strydom and Lourens Delport all finished the 12km race well and we congratulate our silver medalist, Marion Delport who finished the 12km women's race 2nd with a time of Marion 2:10:50, even though she almost couldn't compete due to illness earlier that week!
Well done Johan Volschenk for finishing the 21km race!
We celebrate each of these amazing runners who competed for a cause greater than themselves and persevered all the way through even when there were brutally tough times during the race.
We hope to inspire more of you and your businesses to get involved in socio-economic development projects to bring hope and transform lives!
Thank you to our team's amazing sponsors CCI Professional, TheFoundery, NeuroNex Coaching and Farm World, who forms part of the Grassroots Group of Companies. Your support has meant the world to us!

Marcel Hattingh facilitated a Personal Mastery Investment session with Laerskool Pietersburg's entire team focusing on the outcome to restore dignity in life and gaining perspective over destiny.
This is not only relevant for the educational team themselves, but also for how they facilitate true life-giving practices within the educational sphere in the city of Polokwane.
How are you effectively growing in your personal mastery?

At the Grassroots Group, we are continuing our journey to foster, enable, and empower a culture that supports their rapidly growing organisation. The culture blueprint was established by their senior leadership and we are now focusing on training and equipping the mid-management team to act as culture ambassadors. This team will play a crucial role in modelling and facilitating the cultural shift throughout the organisation.
How does your organisation ensure that its culture is modeled by all levels of leadership?
Thank you Marcel Hattingh for facilitating this session at the Grassroots Group.
Spending time with the ETR Construction team is always blessing - building on their vision and strategies for the future. We celebrate the addition of a new team member and also the dedication of Riaan for joining the whole 3-hour session via Zoom because he couldn't join in person. We look forward to watching this grow into their vision even more!
Is YOUR company's mission aligned with your vision? Perhaps it's time you have a coffee with one of our team members.
Thank you Marcel Hattingh for facilitating this session.
This is quite a humbling moment, crossing the 15,000 followers mark on LinkedIn. Building social capital is a critical part of growing any business. Key to its success is having the right kind of followership. At 11.7%, CEOs came in at the first place. What an honour to serve this community of leaders!
We celebrate that Lourens Delport will be representing us at this prestigious conference next year! Carrying hope into the educational sphere on the continent.
Is your company's mission aligned with its purpose? Are you ready for what the future of your company may look like?
We had the privilege last week of continuing the mission alignment process with the great team at ETR Construction, guiding them in aligning their mission and purpose and keeping them future-fit!
Thank you Marcel Hattingh for facilitating this process.
Marcel Hattingh and Lourens Delport have been involved in Laeveld Agrochem's journey on succession planning and how to incorporate it into their organisational culture.
We have wrapped up phase one, which deals with awareness throughout the management ranks concerning what succession planning is.
What an amazing first generation leadership team that is thinking about how the baton will be handed over to the next generation.
How is your company thinking about succession planning?
Is it perhaps time for a coffee with our team?
