At Bophanigroup The Firm we charged the client a mere $ 26,988.60 (R 485,794.90) to build this property labour only 🙄

The client rejected us in favour of cheap labour by undocumented illegal foreign nationals who claims they changed the client a little $ 6,747.15 R 121,448.70 a quarter of our original rates 🤔

Now through this damage the greedy client lost material worth $ 28,776.00 R 517,968.50, vehicle worth $ 43,333.30 (R 780,000) including the monies payed to these undocumented illegal foreigners.

That's $ 78,856.50 R 1,419,417.20 budget gone to waste instead of trusting Bophanigroup The Firm with their project with only as little as $ 26,988.60 (R 485,794.90) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What a loss😭

REASOS WHY WE HAVE HOLLOW IN BLOCKS

3 Major Reasons Why we Have Hollow in Blocks

I've made a post on this same issue sometime ago but let me redo this for the sake of the new people following this page.

Overtime, I've seen many builders, engineers and site supervisors fill the hollow in their sandcrete blocks with mortar (mixture of cement, sand and water).

Some say it's for stability, while some say it's for extra strength and those are all lies.

The Hollows we have in our blocks are for three major purposes:-

1. To reduce the weight it carries. If you notice, hollow blocks are usually adviceable for high rise buildings and that's because it's of a lesser weight to a whole block. Ideally, the higher your building, the lesser the weight of load it's supposed to carry else the substructure (foundation) wears off and a collapse is inevitable.

2. It helps in improving thermal comfort of a building. Some houses by virtue of orientation and location of the site, are usually faced with heat problems emanating from solar radiation on the walls. When a hollow blocks is been used, it traps a certain amount of heat inside from the outside wall inside the hollow before the heat passes inside the house the pressure might have reduced to a large extent.

3. It gives room for the placement of structural materials like rods if need be and also makes the block easier to handle.

So next time, when you have an hollow block in your site, don't fill-up the hollow space. It has its own purposes.
