It's with deepest regret we announce the demise of our gallant iron lady who died yesterday 8th July 2024 at Hellen Joseph hospital in Johannesburg after a short illness.
Ms Kabeba was a business woman who lived in Johannesburg and a diehard member and leader of the party from the days of opposition.
Kerk street in joburg will never be the same as Zambians in SA Diaspora mourn in disbelief.
The funeral is being held at Tally's apartments on nugget street in Johannesburg.
Further logistics to fly her remains to Zambia are being worked on by the Zambian community leaders in conjunction with the UPND SA CHAPTER.
Funeral program will be communicated in due course.

Nine Patriotic Front-PF Constituencies have been declared vacant by Parliament.

The affected are Pambashe, Lupososhi, Kawambwa, Kamfinsa, Chitambo, Mporokoso, Shiwang'andu, Chilubi and Lunte Constituencies.

The ruling by the National Assembly follows the expulsion of the Members of Parliament by the Miles Sampa led Patriotic Front-PF last year.

Mnangagwa, a top ally of Russian leader Vladmir Putin, recently appeared on video telling Putin that USA is providing financial and military support to Zambia in order to spite Zimbabwe. 35 COOPERATIVES MINERS GRANTED LICENSES TO FORMALISE OPERATIONS

In a landmark move aimed at bolstering Zambia's artisanal mining ministerof Mines and Mineral Development PaulKabuswe, alongside Nan’goma MP and Water and Sanitation Minister Hon. Eng. Collins Nzovu and Small and Medium Enterprise Development Minister Hon. Elias Mubanga, facilitated the distribution of 35 artisanal mining licenses to cooperatives in Mumbwa District today.

The ceremony, held at Kasalu Primary School grounds marks a significant step in the government's commitment to empowering local communities and ensuring the equitable utilization of Zambia's natural resources. These newly licensed cooperatives are now authorized to legally mine gold and sell their produce to Zambia Gold Limited, ensuring fair market access and pricing.

Hon. Kabuswe, recalling UPND electoral pledge to prioritize the welfare of Zambians through sustainable resource management, reiterated the importance of formalizing the artisanal mining sector. "Today's initiative is a fulfillment of our promise to empower our people and ensure that they benefit directly from our natural resources," Hon. Kabuswe stated.

The issuance of these licenses follows a similar initiative launched recently in Rufunsa, demonstrating the government's proactive approach to formalizing and regulating small-scale mining operations across the country. Hon. Paul Kabuswe Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, emphasized the government's dedication to supporting cooperative and small-scale miners in transitioning from informal to formal sectors.

"As Minister responsible for mining, I am delighted to witness this pivotal moment where local cooperatives receive the recognition and support they deserve," Minister Kabuswe remarked. "These licenses will not only enhance the economic activities in Mumbwa District but also contribute to job creation and sustainable development."

The event underscored the New Dawn Government's broader strategy to promote entrepreneurship and economic diversification through cooperative formations and support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Minister Elias Mubanga emphasized the transformative potential of formalizing artisanal mining, encouraging cooperative members to uphold professionalism and safety standards.

"To the recipients of these artisanal mining licenses, I urge you to leverage this opportunity to improve your craft, innovate, and contribute positively to your communities," Minister Mubanga encouraged.

Local participants welcomed the initiative with optimism, recognizing its potential to enhance livelihoods and foster community development through responsible mining practices.

MAIKO ZULU DENOUNCES TRIBAL TALK

Reggae Artist and Human Rights Activist Maiko Zulu says Lawmakers who issue tribal remarks deserve to be booted out of the National Assembly for promoting disunity among Zambians.

Speaking in an Interview with Byta FM Zambia News on Tuesday morning, Zulu said it is unfortunate that some politicians are determined to divide the nation for personal political gain.

Zulu explained that constituents whose representatives are found liable for promoting national division should be the first to call for their resignation before severe damage is caused.

He has warned that if perpetrators of tribalism are not brought to book and punished the country may lose some lives in the run-up to the 2026 general election.

And Human Rights Activist Gabriel Phiri has equally condemned tribalism.

Phiri said the tribal remarks by Lumezi Member of Parliament Munir Zulu and his Mfuwe Counterpart Maureen Mabonga do not befit their status in the society.

Phiri said no one should be let free for promoting division among Zambians as the vice has the potential to set the country on fire if left unchecked.

The script writer must be fired. If UKWA contracted me to write an abduction story, I would change a few things.
First of all I would not leave the car running and doors open. That screams hey find me if you can. I am not in the car.

So I would change that part and make 'abductors' abduct him with his car. Make that car lose control to indicate that Jay Jay was fighting with the abductors who lost control and hit the tree somewhere past Chilanga.

Then hit him hard and drag him outside his own car leaving his blood stains scattered in the car and outside. Then move the scene to Kafue. Get him to rest from acting.

He has to have good breakfast and get the signal from Adada. When Adada publicly announced that he will find Jay Jay, that statement means preparing the scene where he will be found along the banks of Kafue River.

Tie him by a nearest tree naked! Then beat the hell out of him for the greater purpose of UKWA. Leave marks on the body that can't be refuted.

Then do two extreme things; cut off the small finger, and get him a retired boxer to punch his face and get his front teeth out. After all Adada will fix his teeth. Then untie him and let him crawl to the nearest village.

MACHINERY FOR MANUFACTURING OF ELECTRIC CAR BATTERIES ARRIVE IN THE COUNTRY

Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga has disclosed that the machinery for the manufacturing of the Electric Car Batteries has arrived in the country in readiness for commencement of manufacturing of batteries.

Speaking during the launch of the China-Zambia high quality development forum in Lusaka today, Mr. Mulenga says the construction of the plant is underway and that the equipment is scheduled to be offloaded and installed next week.

PF TO PAY KALANDANYA K13.5 MILLION FOR MUSIC SERVICES RENDERED

The opposition Patriotic Front (PF) has been ordered to pay Lusaka businessman Bwalya Kalandanya trading as Kalandanya Music K 13.5 million for the music services he rendered to the party during the 2021 General Election campaigns.

The Court says Mr. Kalandanya is entitled to receive the said money arising from the contract between him and the PF.

According to the court, the money awarded will restore him in the position he would have been had the PF performed its contractual obligations.

In this matter, Mr. Kalandanya had sued then PF Secretary General, Nickson Chilanga, demanding the said money for production, promotion, development of the campaign songs among them, Alebwelelapo and political advertisements.

Mr. Kalandanya had submitted that despite him providing the music services, the PF failed to pay him the agreed amount during the tenure of the agreement.

He passed on at Maina Soko Military Hospital on the 14th of April 2024 after an illness.

Former Chipolopolo midfielder Rainford Kalaba has continued to stabilize in the ICU of the University Teaching Hospital with his breathing being described as normal.

Family Rep at the hospital Hillary Mumba tell THE FALCON that the nimble footed creative Midfielder is conscious and has started moving his limbs.

Only the mother is allowed to see and enter his room to avoid congestion.

RAINFORD KALABA IS STABLE

Medics attending to former Chipolopolo midfielder Rainford Kalaba have advised the family to demobilise as he is now out of danger.

The brother Hilary Mumba confirmed to THE FALCON this evening that the celebrated midfielder has high chances of surviving and has since been placed on an initial seven days course of painkillers.

He however remains in ICU under further observation.

WE ARE IN GOVERNMENT BECAUSE PEOPLE VOTED FOR UPND PARTY - HH

We are in the presidency, and we are called the UPND New Dawn government because of the political party that survived many years of name calling and all manner of inhuman treatment.

Zambians voted for the UPND to deliver change and not lawlessness, and therefore, as party functionaries and especially as citizens that endured pain for several years, we have to do better and deliver development.

We recall vividly how we used to get 1, 000 votes from both Muchinga and Northern Provinces before they were merged and this was back then but we didn't stop pushing our message in this part of the country.

In 2021, they together with other parts of the country elected UPND. We therefore remain indebted and the only pay back is to deliver development in an equitable manner.

Unity of purpose in the party, recruiting of new members, mobilising the party, obtaining National registration cards and voter's cards and then continously telling our voters what we have so far achieved, where we are and where we are going has to be at every UPND member's lips.

This was our message to our UPND Northern Province party leadership this evening. There is no President Hakainde Hichilema without UPND and therefore anyone given an opportunity to serve the public in whatever position, must always have this at the back of their mind that without UPND as a party and through the party the Zambian citizens, no one would be Minister, Permanent Secretary, Director, or indeed District commissioner.

UPND, we have got work to do and work in an organised manner and not chipantepante because that is not what Zambians want.

We remain optimistic that UPND will surely during this 5-year mandate deliver progress for all.

Once more. Thank you to our Northern Province party leadership for holding the UPND together even in times when it was not fashionable to be UPND. Surely, the rewards can already be seen through free education, jobs in various sectors being offered to all citizens of this country. May God bless the UPND party, and may God bless Zambia.
