At Chatterbox Therapy Services, we’re on a mission to empower every child through holistic, client centred therapy! 🌟

🌟 It’s Speech Pathology Week 2024! 🌟
In Australia, an estimated 1.2 million Australians have communication support needs. Let’s celebrate the power of communication and embrace every unique way we express ourselves - whether it's spoken, signed, digital, or written. 💬✨
📚Open a book, open a world of possibilities for your child!
Research shows that reading aloud boosts vocabulary, improves concentration, and sparks imagination, amongst so many more benefits!✨
Lately we have been all about communication profiles to support education around our children’s interests and learning needs ✨ these have been SO helpful in understanding communication and sensory preferences, and supporting a neurodiversity affirming approach on how we can change the environment to suit our children.
Have a sneak peak of a communication profile recently completed by our wonderful Senior Speech Pathologist, Chloe 🤍
Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to explore new worlds, spark imagination and expand on vocabulary. Reading aloud with your child is a fantastic way to boost language development and spend quality time together! ✨📖
A bit of an interesting post to have to make for a Monday 🥹
Our office was unfortunately smashed into today, thankfully nobody was hurt or in the reception area at the time of impact (we are all feeling very lucky!). If you have a clinic session with us this week, your therapist will be in contact to let you know about our situation and make arrangements where possible.
Otherwise, our services will continue as per usual and we will hopefully have the front of our space up and running again shortly 🥹
Thank you all for your understanding - please contact us if you have any further questions 🤍
A massive and belated congratulations to our wonderful Delna, who has recently transitioned to a Senior Speech Pathology role with Chatterbox Therapy Services 🎈
Delna's speech sound knowledge, willingness to help out, organisation, supervision and support to staff, and continuous development of her skills are all such admirable traits of hers. She has gone above and beyond over the last two years, and we are so appreciative to have her on our therapy team - Thank you Delna! ✨
Another day… another brilliant workshop! 🎉
This time it was our Senior Speechie, Kate Munro, who delivered the goods. She had a great day with Chatterbox Therapy Services, All Adelaide Speech Pathology, Tel Speech Pathology, and Embrace Speech Pathology Services, sharing about the essence of life, communication!
In no particular order, Kate’s favourite things about the session:
✔️the fabulous like-minded people who attended
✔️the amazing snack and lunch spread
✔️the thoughtful questions
✔️the diligent note taking!
We love delivering these workshops to share our passion for all things AAC. ❤️
Happy birthday to our administration support, Karen! 🎂

"Hyperlexia" is the term that is used for children who start reading fluently early, and beyond the years of their expected capabilities.
Typically these children present with a “photographic” memory, meaning they can recall the words previously learnt without needing the skills to segment, blend or decode.
Although these children may be able to read fluently, they typically struggle to comprehend the information they have read, which can cause gaps in their language development throughout their early schooling years.
Hyperlexia is typically not a ‘stand alone’ diagnosis, and very commonly occur with autistic children that are suspected gestalt language processors.
Although hyperlexia is not a disorder that warrants a diagnosis, it is important to be aware of, as this can significantly support strategies that will be most beneficial to support a child with their ongoing language and literacy development.
Thank you to the wonderful Kate from for the AAC presentation today! We were lucky enough to share this workshop with some of our beautiful speechies from and 🤍 thank you girls for coming along!
