Welcome all, pull up a seat and enjoy a relaxing communitea that just wants to spread and learn knowledge of all things tea.
Adelaide Uni students teaming up to de-stress and enjoy a cup together.
“This cup of chai that I behold right now is my solution to every headache, every stress-inducing situation, and every boring hour of the day. It is my companion when I am alone; it is the friend indeed when I am in need the most. Chai is the first thing I think of when I open my eyes in the morning, and it is the thought of chai which gets me out of bed.
Chai is this beautiful caffeinated drink that all Pakistanis swear by in every situation. Chai is like a drink of water for Pakistanis and there is no shame that the obsessive reliance to cure any headache or to bring outmost comfort. Chai is the beverage of our nation and the comfort to our souls.”
Thank you so much to treasured tea friend Bisma for sharing these gorgeous photos and words about Pakistani chai and its importance to her!

Lu Yu's classic monograph is a must-read for all nerds of tea and history. At some stage, Tea Club would love to try figure out how to make Tang-style tea following the instructions in this book (if we can manage to get our hands on all 28 brewing tools, that is)!
Here are Tea Club we stan purple clay pots and pottery mastery.
Fun fact: each purple clay pot can only be used for one kind of tea, with the flavours of that tea absorbing into the clay over years of use and deepening the tasting experience! Plus they're just cool pots.

The Tea Club would like to formally condemn such tea crimes. And we would like to formally condemn the member who sent this to our president. This hurts us, we are crying. When she mentioned the microwave 😭😭😭
Pro tip: if you're going to try boil tea directly in the kettle, it can be done! Fermented and aged teas like pu-erhs or aged whites can take well to boiling so long as you keep an eye on the water as it boils so it doesn't boil over. Preferably, also start with smaller amounts of water and gradually add more along with each brew.
Boiling your tea can also be a great way to get the flavour back into leaves you've already used and have lost their flavour - especially with good quality aged teas! We at the Tea Club stan getting every ounce of flavour possible out of your tea!
Calling all lovers of tea, whether you love a good Earl Grey or you're more of a chairacter, we're UofA's Tea Club!
While we're currently steeped in knowledge around Gong Fu Cha, a Chinese Tea Ceremony, we're very keen to meet those of you with knowledge of other cultural ways to enjoy tea, so that we can all learn and brew together.
No need to read the leaves to keep up to date with us- just follow our page for now, and we hope to see you and share a cup soon!
