Minda Inc.
Enabling people with an intellectual disability to live their best lives. Workplace
Today is R U OK? Day.
A day where we are all encouraged to reach out to those around us and ask 'R U OK?".
It is a national day that aims to inspire and empower you to meaningfully connect with people and start a conversation with those in your world who may be struggling with life.
You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener. Use the steps in the image below to start a conversation with someone today.
Show week is one of our favourite weeks at Minda, with many of the people we support spending a day taking in all the sights, sounds and wonderful activities at the Royal Adelaide Show.
Here is Barry and Dot getting up close with farm animals (as well as mascot Wheaty McWheatface!), and Dion and Mikey trying their hand at delivering the nightly news for 9 News Adelaide!
We can't wait to do it all again in 2025!
Congratulations to Sarah from Back In Motion Campbelltown, the winner of our competition at the Aged and Disability Expo.
Sarah takes away a $100 voucher to spend at INC Cafe, our onsite inclusive cafe, on a delicious lunch for her and her colleagues.
Our team will next be at the upcoming DAL Expo in October - keep an eye out for your chance to win your own voucher for you and your team!
Coming up this weekend is one of our favourite events of the year - the Lumary City-Bay Fun Run!
Minda has been taking part for quite some time with the wonderful Warwick being apart of the event for 9 years.
He has been training for the event by riding his bike, walking and playing basketball, and for the first time will be trying his hand at the 12km run alongside support worker Gary and Minda Chief Executive David Panter!
Read about Warwick's love for the City-Bay and how excited he is for this year's event.

Summer's excited for her journey into day options!
Summer has been enjoying trying out different day options through Minda's MyPathway to Day Options program. Attending on Saturdays, she gets to try different programs including cooking, painting, pottery and music. Summer's family are confident this will lead to a smooth transition into day options programs next year.
Summer's grandfather Dean says "there is a strong level of excitement when she attends her three-hour session. When we are driving there, you can tell by her body language that she is looking forward to the day ahead".
We love to hear that Summer's enjoying learning new skills and building friendships!

Thank you Peter for your continued support and expert skills that are so appreciated.

Meet Mitchell!
Mitchell moved homes earlier in the year and the improvements to his wellbeing are noticeable.
Mitchell had the time he needed to familiarise himself with his new home and housemates before transitioning, and great staff who support him to improve his communication, confidence and overall health.
Being surrounded by caring housemates and familiar staff has also played a pivotal role in Mitchell feeling right at home.
