Running Strong ๐ช
We are very excited to launch our new Running Strong program to help runners stay injury free and reach their running goals!
๐โโ๏ธWhat is it?
A 4-session program to improve your running and decrease your chance of injury. Whether your goal is to start running for the first time, run a 5km Parkrun with your friends, or run a marathon personal best, the Run Strong program is for you!

๏ธ Our running analysis begins with detailed discussion of your running history, your current training, and your goals and expectations.

๏ธA running assessment using slow motion video analysis to carefully evaluate your running technique

๏ธ A detailed evaluation of your mobility and strength

๏ธ A custom created exercise program including strength and mobility exercises, and running technique drills to help you become an efficient and stronger runner

Physiotherapist and running fanatic Vicki will be leading this program! She has considerable experience as a Physiotherapist combined with a passion for running. Who better to guide you in achieving your running goals!
Whether that is simply starting or training for a specific goal/event, Vicki will help you achieve it.

Pilates is for Every Body! Our small-group Pilates classes are supportive and inclusive. We want to help empower you to move and exercise with confidence! All of our certified Pilates instructors are also registered Physiotherapists.
To start your Pilates journey at Physio Pilates Proactive you have a 1:1 assesment with one of our Physiotherapists. We assess your current fitness level, discuss current and past injuries, and any health concerns you may have. We can then book in a few individual sessions to teach you the Pilates basics, at a level that is right for you, and ensure you feel confident starting classes!
At Physio Pilates Proactive we have movement options for everyone. Every Body is welcome.

This is the main message from the 2022 UK consensus statement on physical activity for osteoporosis / low bone density.

Exercise and physical activity can improve bone strength and decrease the risk of falls, which is helpful in the prevention and management of osteoporosis.
Many people with osteoporosis are unsure what type of exercise they should be doing, or lack confidence with physical activity.
So what type of exercise should you be doing for your bone health?
โก๏ธ STRONG ๐ช
Progressive resistance training 2-3x week and moderate impact exercise on most days.
โก๏ธ STEADY ๐งโโ๏ธ
Physical exercise that improves strength and balance > 2x week. For those at risk of falls, this should be individualized strength and balance training > 3x week.
โก๏ธ STRAIGHT ๐
Spine extensor strengthening exercises > 2x week to improve posture and reduce risk of falls and vertebral fractures.

๏ธThis program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9.15am -10.15am by Senior Physiotherapists Caitlin and Vicki
What is GLA:D?
โก๏ธ GLA:D, or Good Life with Arthritis: Denmark, is an education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms.
โก๏ธ GLA:Dยฎ uses education and exercise to help with daily activities. You will work on strengthening your body, as well as learning to move correctly and manage symptoms to improve pain.
If you have knee or hip arthritis pain holding you back, if you want to get stronger, then GLA:D is the program for you!
Our next GLA:D program starts the week beginning 4th of June, so call the clinic on 8339 3188 for more information, and to secure your spot.

Our physiotherapists have over 200 years combined experience. All of our Pilates classes are taught by physiotherapists which means you will be safe and any injuries you may have can be managed by properly qualified instructors.
