We have had some pretty monumental events this year, and this August was no different.
We had the privilege of collaborating with to present the closing night of ‘A Permanent Record’ Exhibition, which saw many incredible artists bravely share their lived experience of being criminalised, shedding light on the trauma and discrimination faced within the violent oppressive system.

There was so much love, pain, anger, protest, vulnerability, support, hope and artistry in the room. We cannot wait to see more of these much needed events come to light in the community.

Here are just some of the moments captured by

23/07/2024

DYS are honoured to collaborate and host the closing night of ‘a Permanent Record’ on Thursday 8th August. This is an exhibition that centres the narratives of criminalised young people. It takes a critical look at the violence of the carceral system, seeking to illuminate crime as a social process, deeply connected to broader inequalities.
Stories from:
Tabitha
Ross Heron
Courtney Hunter-Hebberman
& more

To ensure inclusivity for criminalised individuals who may have restrictions on attending licensed premises, no alcohol will be served.

Accessibility: The Mill is wheelchair accessible. A staff member will be stationed outside the main entrance to assist those with accessibility needs.
