So much fun for the last day of term 2 with a Pyjama Day. Lots of students dressed in their pyjamas, dressing gowns and oodies and enjoyed being comfortable and cosy all day. Thank you to everyone for the gold coin donations which totalled $119. This will go towards purchasing extra equipment for our playtime activities.
Enjoy your holiday break everyone!

Our early years classes had an exciting day today, celebrating their 100 days of school for this year. Students were definitely “100 days brighter” in their colourful clothes and enjoyed dressing up, making fairy bread and sharing their learning with special guests. Thank you to all of the families and siblings who came to support the students and to their fabulous teachers for helping them celebrate.

Last week we farewelled Paige Colwell who is currently on maternity leave but is moving on to a new challenge. Paige has been a staff member at Para Vista since 2012 and students enjoyed sharing some fond memories with her and presenting a small gift. We wish Paige all the best at her new school.

A busy week last week with our older classes enjoying their excursion to SA Water and the SA Museum, Preschool Graduation for those children heading to school in term 3 and a fabulous assembly hosted by V12. Students in Light 💙 also enjoyed an extra 10 minutes of play and were the first house to reach 450 points. We wonder which house will get there next?
Congratulations to all of our students who received an award at the assembly and to Connor for being presented with this term’s Kiwanis Terrific Kid Award.

We are very proud of the commitment of our staff and the way our students are developing their thinking and actions towards working together and engaging in learning.

Thank you to V5 & V8 for hosting assembly on Friday and sharing their learning with us. It was great to see your artwork and hear you share your affirmation song.
The Junior Choir gave a fabulous performance, singing the acknowledgment of country and signing the national anthem. Congratulations to our Values Awards winners and the students who have been displaying values in the yard.
We have another assembly to come this term in week 9.

National Reconciliation Week is a time to learn, reflect and take action towards a more just and inclusive Australia. It's an important opportunity for our students to learn together and celebrate our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
During the week, students worked with their buddies to make yarning sticks and today we joined together in a whole school yarning circle. Some classes made damper, drew symbols and another held their morning circle around a "camp fire" this morning.

Don't forget to wear it proud tomorrow!

Thank you to Kickstart For Kids for all of the support they give us in helping run our Breakfast Club. We definitely couldn’t provide this amazing program for our students without their support.

Today, on National Sorry Day, we remember and acknowledge the mistreatment and forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families – the Stolen Generations.

Children at Eden Hills Kindergarten regularly visit the Colebrook Reconciliation Park – the site of the former Colebrook Training Home where Aboriginal children were removed from their families were placed.
The children and their families share damper around the fire, explore the sculptures and remember.

During National Reconciliation Week former residents – members of the Stolen Generation – visit to share stories, enriching the children’s understanding.

We really enjoyed hosting our first Mother’s Day breakfast this morning. About 90 students, parents and grandparents came along and shared some delicious food including croissants, pancakes, fruit skewers and egg and bacon muffins made with the eggs from our very own chickens!
We hope you all had a lovely breakfast and continue the celebrations with your families on Sunday.

Don’t forget that tomorrow we are holding our Mother’s Day Stall. Students can purchase gifts from $1-$8 and will visit the stall with their class. Particularly for our younger students, please send along the cash in a named snap lock bag so teachers can help keep it safe until they visit the stall.
Below are some of the gorgeous gifts available. 🩷🩷

The weather will be great for a walk!

It was a different start to the term today with everyone participating in a team building day. Students engaged in some fabulous activities which meant they had to work together, communicate, persist and show resilience. It was so much fun and we thank Active Education for working with us today to provide a positive beginning to Term 2.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them. 🌺
