M4-M5 Link Rozelle Interchange

Each material has its specific characteristics which we must understand if we want to use it. This is no less true of steel and concrete.

The Rozelle Interchange and Iron Cove Link will provide a new underground motorway interchange to City West Link and provide a toll-free underground bypass of Victoria Road between the Iron Cove Bridge and the Anzac Bridge, with links to the approved Western Harbour Tunnel.

The interchange in Rozelle will be mostly underground and located at the site of the old Rozelle Rail Yards. By building the interchange mostly underground, the project will deliver new active transport options in Rozelle and up to 10 hectares of new open space in the future Rozelle Parklands.

Project: West Gate Tunnel CPBJH JV - Footscray, Melbourne

Macfab is proud to be part of the West Gate Tunnel Project CPBJH JV for delivering all the temporary steelwork frames on the concrete piers. The project will deliver New connections between the elevated roadway and City Link, Dynon Road, and the existing Footscray Road widening of Wurundjeri Way by 1 lane in each direction between Dudley Street and Flinders Street an extension of Wurundjeri Way to the west, connecting into Dynon Road to the east of Moonee Ponds Creek, providing a bypass of the CBD.

Prospect Highway Upgrade, Blacktown NSW
Macfab under the Subcontract of Fulton Hogan, by Providing all Major steel works alongside Installation. Big thanks to our Installation crew and Fulton Hogan - Prospect Highway team for being helpful to work on-site and for the quality of work we have done.

Key features of this multi-million-dollar project include:
🚘 Upgrading the highway to a four-lane divided road
🚘 Duplicating the bridges over M4 Motorway and Great Western Highway
🚘 A new two-way link road between Great Western Highway and Prospect Highway
🚘 Changing access arrangements at Tudor Avenue, Roger Place, Vesuvius Street, and Ponds Road
🚘 Upgrading the existing shared path on the western side of Prospect Highway
🚘 Installing a kerbside bus lane in each direction
🚘 Providing a kiss-and-ride facility for Shelly Public School
🚘 Modifying the intersection at Hadrian Avenue and Key worth Drive to provide a roundabout

Caufield - Glen Huntly line Upgrade Metro Trains Melbourne Level Crossing Removal Project

Macfab Engineering proudly presents the structures fabricated for LXRP of Caufield Glen Huntly. The level crossings at Neerim Road and Glen Huntly Road in Glen Huntly will be 2 of 20 crossings removed by the Level Crossing Removal Project along the Frankston Line by 2025.
Boom gates at these locations can be down for up to 58% of the morning peak when up to 40 trains run through the crossings.
These level crossings will be removed by lowering the rail line into a trench and will include the construction of a new Glen Huntly Station.
The new station – with its lowered platforms – will improve safety and accessibility for locals as well as provide better connections between public transport, shops, and community spaces.
These 2 dangerous and congested level crossings have been fast-tracked for removal, with early construction works underway, targeting boom gate removal in 2023, and the job was done in 2024 – one year ahead of schedule.

As they said we did it, Macfab is proud to be part of this project's stage. - It's Winter Already, Treat your steel with Preheating to minimize cracks, warpage, porosity, shrinkage stresses, and hard zones. A good preheat is very important with complex shapes and base metals of high carbon or alloy steels. 🔥 👷‍♂️

Lake Macquarie City Council is on track to deliver safer travel for motorists and pedestrians in the city’s west, with contractor Symal Group and Macfab Engineering completing a key component of the upgrade of Wilton Road Bridge at Awaba.

The project will also deliver improved pedestrian access along the bridge, making it safer for the public to access nearby facilities, such as Awaba Station and Robert ‘Dutchy’ Holland Oval, on foot.

The project is jointly funded by the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges program and Lake Macquarie City Council.

Today's project Nowra Bridge Project.

Macfab has supplied all major steel structures under the sub-contractor of Fulton Hogan - Contractor, Cardno - Designer and Transport for NSW i.e., barrier Rails, Traffic Rails, Cyclist Rails, Pedestrian Rails, and Sign Structures(AS/NZS 1554.5 - Fatigue Conditions) under the CC3 level.

The Nowra Bridge project will provide a new four-lane bridge over the Shoalhaven River, upgraded intersections, and additional lanes on the Princes Highway. The NSW and Australian Governments are funding this new bridge project, which aims to improve traffic flow and ease congestion on a major section of the Princes Highway.
The new bridge is also designed to deliver faster journeys to drivers within the Nowra-Bomaderry area.
