As we age our hylauronic acids level decrease in our skin, along with bone absorption and blood vessels reduction. The Orbicularis oris muscle (muscle around our mouth) weakens and invert resulting in thinner, less plump lips.

As of today there will be some changes within the guidelines of our industry to protect our patients as recommended by the Australian Government. This will include changes to advertising, additional screening and consent.

1). Additional screening
Prior to any treatment patients will be required to complete a Body Dysmorphia Screen. If deemed body dysmorphic, treatment will not be performed and referral to an appropriate health care professional will be made to protect and support our vulnerable patients.

2). Financial consent
Prior to treatment, written financial consent will need to be completed and you will receive a copy of this.

3). Advertising
Historically there has been limitations on advertising within our industry which we have complied with. The new guidelines will build on this. This is to differentiate us from the beauty world, avoid cosmetic practitioners glamourising cosmetic procedures and downplaying the risks involved.

Moving forward our page may appear more clinical. This is not to confuse or hide things from you. We will not be able to repost your images that we are tagged in, respond to comments and use terms such as frown lines & crowsfeet (instead we will be using the correct anatomical terminology such as Glabella and Orbicularis Oculi).
