Replacing the oil lines to the remote filter housings on MV KONA

Just finished up two weeks working as first mate on the beautiful Curtis Ambassador.

I spent the first week up in Townsville with two big day trips and then steamed down to Airlie where we completed a four day trip.

Couldn’t ask for a better team to work with and can’t wait to do it all again!

New exhaust water jacket for this 2 stroke diesel Detroit.

Started stripping out the cray well, ready for a Refit!

Spent a few hours doing a rough engine to shaft alignment so the p brackets can undergo final fitting.

Service completed on this Volvo Penta TMD 22! One of the Cleanest engine bays I’ve seen on a 1950s timber cruiser

Aussie 1 had some low power issues and a no start port engine. The starboard engine was slow to crank and being a fishing vessel that is out almost everyday reliably is a must.
With some wiring issues sorted and a bad earth the engines now both crank hard and the low power issues are sorted.

Touch up paint and stainless polished ready for race day Saturday!

Just completed a full check over of the engine and gearbox as well as sent oil away for sampling and repots.

We have been doing a fair bit of work lately on MV Rambler including a full service and raw water system overhaul, engine room makeover including preparation for painting, through hull fitting replacements and other various repairs.

Spent my Saturday afternoon and night out skippering Aussie princess on 2 charters up the brisbane river.

Not only is she a beautiful boat but she performs beautifully and is extremely responsive.

A strip out, rebuild and install of the main Genset on “The Boat”

After a long wait on parts we finally finished s off the install and tested the genset where it performed perfectly!

A full new set of hoses and clamps to go with it to ensure it performs perfectly into the future.

Big day out skippering to Moreton island for the day!
